Minecraft is a game where your goal is too build and stay alive, this game has a single player and an online mode, both are quite fun .

In single you are alone in some planet or area (but there are so many islands and it is insanely big and can be called a Planet, some say the "play area" size can be nearly eight times the size of earth, now that is sweet map for GTA).

There is no human in the area and at night, creepy creatures some out with a goal to kill you, reminds me of a zombie apocalypse.

Now you can make stuff using other stuff you find and the main gold is to build tunnals and mine, you can make anything with the right stuff, like a subway system on the whole island (hard) or a castle (not as hard but still hard).

Online is similar but there are no zombies and stuff like that, you goal is to build whatever you want under the severs' rules and expolre (again, under the severs' rules because if the map gets bigger, there are more lag).

You should try it, just google it .

Only problem is that it is a pay to play game (only 10 $, and it is all yours) and the free version is build with unlimited items, which stinks.

I play this game online though a cracked version and only on one server though , I got the single player legibly thought a downtime at Minecraft.com or something and now I can access it whenever I like.

I've never played Bioshock and it's still awesome.

I have looked at this game a lot in the last couple of days. Ever since I saw deadmau5 play it. I have no idea if I will play it though because I do not want to download more stuff.

Lagslayer : Pay once and it is yours FOREVER, and if you buy before the next version (like buy Alpha before beta comes out) you get it cheaper (Alpha = $10, Beta = $15 etc.).

billythekidmonster : it is worth the download and the 10 $, but I can't pay so I got one off....other ways.

You can actually play the game in your browser. I'm running a server for my website. The game itself is fairly small, what gets big is the size of your world.

I seriously don't understand the point of this game.... it's a bunch of blocks.... and you can make them or destroy them....

and that video didn't really show off anything that I would call fun.... just doesn't make sense to me

geeogree : you are not really a hard core gamer who will try a lot of different types of games .

The fun part of the game is mining, yea the video didn't help, but you must play then it will be fun to do anything, you should also know there are mindcrafts and making subways is awesome in the long run .

Also like I said before there are stuff trying to kill you and you got a sword and arrow (the games 1st person) so there is the RPG part of the game (get better stuff to build better weapons etc.)

You are the same guy who said RCT is not fun, you dislike building games ?

I guess I'm not a big fan of building stuff...

I like RPG's or money simulation type games (so I do like Roller Coaster Tycoon but only for the financial aspect of the game ).... and FPS's but those are even few and far between that I really enjoy.

With a bow and TNT, the game quickly becomes quite FPSish.

In the paid game you:

Find resources, create items (like swords, pick axes, glass, etc.) you use that to defend yourself or better gather more resources. There's a day night cycle and at night monsters come out and so you have to build a shelter to be safe. As you build better gear you can do more faster. You can use blocks to build structures.

The game has quite a bit of variety when it comes to objects.

Honestly you may consider skipping around as it does start off a bit slow.

yeah, that was a lot more interesting than what I got to play.... it almost looks fun enough to pay for I doubt I will, but I liked the idea of it. Resource collection and such. I'm not much for building, but if I could end up in a world with multiple people that could be cool to work together on stuff.

The game is really worth the 10 dollars, but I use a crack because I can't pay, I want to buy this game as soon as I can though .

Didowe : no worries..... I actually grabbed a cracked version to see what the game was like and it was pretty fun. Hard to figure out without that tutorial video that Vash posted.... but I think I could really enjoy the game. I like the resource gathering and item creation more than the building aspect but I totally get the appeal now.

I have become a total Minecraft Addict, Minecraft Alpha that is, not the free version. I've been having a lot of fun with the new support for mods and texture packs Notch recently added, I'm working on a texture pack made to look like Super Mario World, it's doing Ok, aminly because I'm taking the textures from Super Mario World.

so, is there some sort of end goal to this game?

I grabbed a cracked version to try it out and I can't figure out what the point of the game is. I've mined everything I can find and made all the items that I can find to make. What else is there or have I pretty much done it all.... except for building that is.... I don't care much about building.

I don't think it has a point, I like to hunt down dungeons, but even better I like to make huge overly complex structures. People make some crazy stuff in Minecraft Alpha, just look at all the Youtube videos people made, like the Minecraft Interstate.

yeah, I spend most of my time searching out the caves that I find. I tend to die a fair bit doing that . I hate the skeleton archers.

Yeah, no real "point" at least currently, in the final product it's possible there will be more. There are a few things like monster spawners that you probably haven't seen, one goal could be to shut those down, but even then the world goes on forever horizontally.

Playing online is cool because you get to see who can build the best stuff or explore together.

monster spawners??? what do they look like? Will that prevent monsters from spawning in a certain area?
