Guys, I've just discovered something disturbing. I need to know: is there an official PSP website? Please tell me if there is and what it's web address is, because I need to check it for something (if it exists). This is extremely important, and is very much related to the Petition.

Sure that was related to the petition alright lol. Maybe you do actually have a reason though.

Maybe his PSP got a virus, like every other PSP in the country.

I recieved the Ayla signature from Saridon. He gave it to me in .psd format, however. Anyway, I looked it over... and it looks pretty good. It isn't THAT different from the original, but it is tweaked a bit. Also worthy of note, is that he seems to have been able to edit the text from the original. He somehow put it in to a seperate layer, which allows it to be edited... though only in photoshop. Of course, I realize that not all of you have photoshop. Due to this, I made a different version which I dubbed the 'general' version. This version merely says "I support the Chrono Trigger Petition", rather than including your name. I suggest you include both versions in the download. That way those without photoshop can still have a signature supporting the CTP, and those with photoshop can add their names to it.

Whew! Thank God. I'd heard on the Chrono Compendium from some guy named Zaperking that there was a CT Remake scheduled to be made for the PSP, and that it was on the upcoming games list on the official website. This would have nullified the entire purpose of the petition, but thankfully it isn't true, so all our hard work has not been wasted.

That sig looks nice, Apoc (the JPEG one, at least). Do you need to have Photoshop installed on your computer in order to view the other version?

I've discovered another individual who could help us with the sigs/wallpapers. His name, simply enough, is Joe. He's a massive Chrono Trigger fanatic that I met on a forum which, oddly enough, had nothing to do with Chrono Trigger. And he's very excited at the chance to help us with this project. I'll keep you guys updated.

I can't view the Photoshop version of that sig, since I have Paint Shop Pro and not Photoshop. (I hate Adobe.) But, on both sigs if they just say "Chrono Trigger Petition," then I think that needs to be changed. There could be several Chrono Trigger Petitions out there. Take the petition for releasing a CT novel, for example. For this reason I really want the sigs to say "Chrono Trigger Remake Petition." Can we do that please?

Well... yes... I can see that, however, I don't think "Chrono Trigger Remake Petition" sounds much less generic... if you get me. Also... the reason the font in the second version is different is since I did not have that font set that Saridon did. As such, I had to replace it with another.

Anyway, I'll change them if it is really necessary. Though I don't think that one word makes a big difference. Since the site itself is called "Chrono Trigger Petition", you can't really change that name on the signature unless you change the name of the site itself. Furthermore, if you want to choose a name that stands out from the other names... perhaps we should look in to more... original possibilities.

Can't we have them link to the site? So that someone can click on them and go to the site itself?

That's simple to do, Michael. Create a hotlink to the site, and on the part of the tag where you type in what text you want to be hotlinked, put the image tag.

Example: [ URL = http://www.blah.com/glarg ] [ IMG ] *your image URL here* [ /IMG ] [ /URL ]

Remove the spaces and you'll get something like this:



Good news! I've learned of a free online image-manipulation program that can open .PSD Photoshop files. It's called "The GIMP". I'll try to find the address of its official site and put it up here soon so we can all go download it.

Joe's enthusiasm continues to amaze me. He will be doing the Marle Thumbs-Up wallpaper for certain, and he seems eager to do the other available wallpaper and sig as well. He also suggested the idea of having site buttons, which are tiny image hotlinks (like the above one, but much smaller) that direct you to the site when clicked on. He says we could have one for each playable CT character. I think the logo would make a good one, too.

Sounds good Stoney. Another artist is always welcome. Now that I think of it though; you might want to make sure he doesn't do anything that Saridon has signed up for. Two artists submitting the same thing (when we can only, at the moment, choose one) is rather pointless, afterall. Just look over that list of jobs I posted not too far back. That should show which jobs Saridon took.

GIMP, eh? Now that I think about it... I think a friend of mine uses that. Supposedly... it is not only free, but it can do pretty much everything photoshop can do. Of course... I haven't used it myself...so I can't verify that.

Yup, GIMP is what Joe uses. He says it really does do everything Photoshop does, in his experience. So yay for us.

BTW, Claado mentioned in the OCR thread that he and a "bunch of other outside sources" are planning a "super-special Christmas present" for everyone this year. Would one of these "outside sources" happen to be us?

Now that we have a month to go, I'm gonna bring this up.

We don't have any kind of header/address in the petition. You know, something like "To Whom It May Concern," at the top before the text. I think the petition would have a more polite tone if we address the people who are reading it.

I don't know that we necessarily have a month to go. I'm anxious to get things under way. Let's just get those sigs in and in place, let me torch Nathan's @$$, then we'll re-evaluate on the launch date. Point being, Symphonic has been pushed back a couple months now (course, we've been pushed back about 3), so it may not be all that reliable of an idea to launch with them. If we launch before them, great. I just don't want to launch after. If we're up when they launch, our link will be ready to go on their site and we'll get that influx of viewers.

As for the little link button, sounds good. Let's get one or two in the Extra Downloads thread.

As for the "extra special Christmas present," I suppose that COULD be us...but if it is, I don't know about it. I think Claado is coordinating with ZeaLitY there, as Z has mentioned a similar "Christmas surprise" in his news at Compendium.

The OCR thread stated that Symphonic will be out "early early in December, several weeks before Christmas". So no, we don't quite have a full month left. Just a few extra days.

You want me to send Claado an email asking if we're part of this "Christmas Surprise"? It couldn't hurt to be sure about it. Besides, I'd like to know if he could give us a launch date more specific than "early December".

2nd EDIT: I just found out why Symphonic has been delayed. Their site got deleted by an unscrupulous host and they're looking for a new home. Could David possibly help them out? It would be the ultimate way to attract attention to Vizzed -- Claado could put a link to the Vizzed Forums on the Symphonic site in return for the webspace. So then we'd have TWO major projects linking to these forums. And people would be even more likely to notice the petition by coming here and seeing its forum.

The only thing he will have to think about is the bandwidth issue. He has a ton, but I don't know how many songs and their sizes etc. he would be able to have here.

Make sure you try to give him a bit of information like that (song file size, song number).
