I've pretty much given up at this point and moved on to other things to distract myself with -- no sense torturing myself over this when there's other stuff I could be doing. The site will be up when it's up, but in the meantime I'm sick of going through deadline after deadline and then agonizing over it 'till I reach emotional exhaustion. It's just not healthy.

I'll try to get involved again once the site is finished. Otherwise... *shrug*

OK, his sister-in-law got married last night, so of course big family & close-friends event. Katie and I were there, along with Nate and his wife, etc, etc. Nate came to me and said "Hey man, on the petition site, it's finally ready. I'm ready to rock... I just need the FTP info."

I was too busy to tell him to use the same FTP info for Vizzed that he already has, so I'm emailing that to him right now.

Oh, and I got to dance twice with the bride... That was fun!

Stoney is going to start climbing walls soon. I can picture it now...... Glad to hear it's finally ready. I can't wait to actually see everything.

Ahh.... good. So my attempts to *borrow* nuclear arms from the black market were unnecessary? Well, unless the government tracks me down due to that last statement, I'll be sure to be around when that site is finally up. Can't wait to see it up.

Nice to see things will finally get set in to motion. Once the website is up, I'll try to promote it as best I can. With any luck, we'll get some good publicity.

I'm still working on getting some of the content in, and there's a couple of final revisions I still need Nate to do. Namely, 1) Change the music, 2) spelling corrections in Privacy Policy, 3) fix a bug that causes one of the fields in About CTP to be non-dynamic, 4) assign the "to" email address of the form in Contact.

About the "Imagine" article: Nathan made a few edits of his own to it, and to y'all's delight, he took out the LotR reference. That field is not dynamic, so what he put there stays.

We'll have our official launch soon, praise God...

Oh, and I need 3 wallpapers and 3 forum sigs made. It doensn't have to be a wallpaper or sig OF the images shown in the wallpaper/sigs section of the site, but it should have those images somewhere in it. Kapish?

EDIT: Yes, I know there's a couple typos and parts where the text runs longer than the field. (Ie, in Who We Are, under Michael, where it says "Jacob took him..." That was supposed to be "Jacob took him seriously.")

Here we go. Things are starting to get moving. I'm glad to see that the wait is almost over. Took a little longer than I had hoped... sort of makes me wish I had use of the epoch. Regardless, I'm grateful for this little project to get this far. It does show quite a bit of dedication to not only pay for the website (so it is also professionally done), but also to put up with all of the stress concerned with such a project and not lose it. While we've all put our contributions foward, I believe the big thanks is towards Jake- what with... well... setting up practically everything.


Anyway... back to business...
It is a shame to me that we have to change the music. The Chrono Trigger series has ended (currently), the end music just so happens to be what is currently playing, and furthermore, we are trying to bring about the revival of the Chrono Trigger series (from its end). In essence, that song is very fitting. I do understand the possibility of legal issues, however. It is thus my suggestion that we find a fan-made rendition. At least when it is fan-made, we are put in to a more... "grey" area.


Oh... and question. With all of those different petition versions, how will the download for that work? That'll take up a lot of space if you have an icon for each. It might be more plausible to combine them all in to one PDF/word-document. In that manner the person could just choose which design they want to print out from the word document. Make sense? Just a suggstion.

3 wallpapers and signatures, eh? I might try my hand at it when I... well... am not bogged down by school work. You would THINK in my week off that I would actually have time. All the teachers assigned huge assignments... and along with various meetings with other students regarding the Senior Project... it is eating up all my time. The woeful life of an engineering student is... so... sad. *Ahem* Yes, though. If I can, I'll try to do something. The problem is, I've kind of... never MADE a signature/wallpaper before. I've been learning the basics of photoshop, but I haven't really had the time to do much else other than the picture-editing for the petition. Perhaps if us over here can't do it, we can recruit a few talented CT fans from say... the CTRP forums? I know quite a few talented artists are there, and they'd probably gladly help us with something such as this.

That sounds like a plan there. Wait for Jake to confirm, but that sounds like the best option. I would do it, but I don't know what I'm doing either. Show them the site, that might help convince them.

Also maybe we can get some major advertising once we are ready. Once we are ready I will send a letter to a few of the guys at IGN. I don't know if they will be able to help, but IGN Cube did post something about a group trying to get Nintendo to put Hi- Def on the Revolution, so maybe one of the sites (since Square is going to be working on all 3 platforms suppossedly) will at least post it in their mailbag section.

Heh... if you can't get it through by simple mails to the IGN in general, we could just flood Matt's mailbox until he has no choice but to choose one of our mails. Of course... he probably wouldn't post it just to spite us.


I plan to do quite a bit of advertising. Of course, I recommend you make sure advertising the CTP won't harm your status on that website/forum/group. Sometimes posting "advertisements" is looked down upon... so be wary of that. I will probably go to forums/groups related to either CT, Sony, Square, or Nintendo. I suppose groups related to video games as a whole couldn't hurt. I then plan on mailing a few news sites information regarding this project. Oh... and Jake; keep this in mind. If we do contact some big game news-distributors... they might ask for an interview. Hope you have something written up.

I hope IGN will pick it up. Either at IGN Cube or PS2 at least.

This could be a very big thing. Any idea what we would do to contact Gamespot?

I guess I'll take care of contacting them and IGN through email once we are ready.

I shall likely try slashdot once more. They likely didn't take the story since we didn't even have a website at the time. Now that this project seems more... put-together, and we have a professionally-made website... I don't think they would have any reason to reject. That right there should get us some good publicity... so long as it isn't rejected.

I'll probably post the information at the Chrono Compedium. While Zeek wasn't all for the idea of the petition, I'm sure some people there probably are. It at least couldn't hurt to mention it there. They are CT fans, afterall.

Square: Why? I don't see any need to call their scrutiny into the game... Because it's all Flash and not really stuff that can be easily found in a simple Google search, it's not likely that Square will run across this site on their own. That means when the goal is reached and we file the petition, they won't care how we did it... They'll be shocked over that fact that we DID do it.

Slashdot: Yes, absolutely. Looking over your later posts, I'm thinking we may want to put you (Michael) in charge of some of this type of stuff. Is that ok with you? Just let me see before submitting.

Contacts: It's a staple of Nathan websites. Makes it look like a big organization...which in this case, it kind of is!

Don't you worry about that... I've had the new music picked out for months, and while the ending theme is somewhat fitting, the new song will give the impression of something remade, revisited, and enhanced... (Notice we have a mini-advertisement there for Chrono Symphonic? There's a reason for it... )

Oh...and answer. I was thinking about that last night... And I'm kinda thinking it might be best to just do one version. Just the one with everybody on it. And no one out there will really miss the individual ones, at least I don't think so...especially when most people haven't seen them. As for sticking them all in one PDF, that would just be too cruel for dial-up users. PDFs are big anyway, and I remember having to download a few in my dial-up days. NOT cool at all.

Yes, and the 3 wallpapers need to use the 3 images shown in the icons, along with the 3 sigs using the 3 images shown in THEIR icons. Reason for that is because those icons are NOT dynamic. So we need something to match what's shown. We're not about to go to the trouble of having those icons changed. As I said before, those images don't need to be the main focus of the wallpapers, but they should be used in there somewhere. And yes, the people at CTRP would be great for this.

Let's just divide and conquer here... I'll conquer Nathan and get the site taken care of.

Michael can work on writing stuff for the different sites, etc, and getting contact info, except for the Slashdot deal. Then, when the stuff is written, just post it here for edits before submission.

Apoc will be in charge of the Slashdot write-up and getting wallpapers/sigs submitted by his friends at CTRP.

That should keep us busy for a couple days. The only reason I'm splitting off the Slashdot project from the rest of the stuff is because this'll allow more attention and focus to be given exclusively to Slashdot.

Thanks for all y'all's (yes, I said "y'all's..." I'm Texan, ya know) help and especially your patience! I've definitely learned a few things so far... Like, for example, when waiting on a great website to be built, get an HTML-based one up in the meantime! ...And not by the same person. That way you're not just completely at his mercy. But anyway, a lesson to be applied sometime in the future. We're through it now...so let's rock and roll!

I would guess I should just email Matt and whoever the PS2 guy is in their respective mailbags, may not be the best way to get noticed, but I can't think of an easier way right now. I'll write something up and let you check it out when I'm done.

I'm an Insider at the Official Nintendo forums, when the time comes I can start something up there. We should see if we can get some publicity from Gamespy too. Anyplace where communities of people talk about games could turn into goldmines. All it really takes is one devoted Chrono fan to see it to pass it on to all the other devoted fans he knows and we have a chain reaction.

Phase one of my part of the job has been put in to motion. I can't say we'll definitely get every job filled, as those forums aren't as active as they used to be, but I'm pretty confident at least some of the jobs will be taken. If we absolutely need more people to work on the artwork, I MIGHT (<-----that is the key word right there) be able to get some friends to help (they like CT, and are great with artwork... but are extroadinarily... lazy.) We can't really take that as a given though, and it should probably be treated as a last resort, if necessary. If I don't get many (or even any) participants at the CTRP forums, I'll likely broaden my search to include multiple forums.


Oh... and one more thing Jake. Something about the website has always bugged me. What exactly does the "Contacts" section do? I believe even you were confused on that one a while ago. Did you ever figure it out?

Hey Props, it has been a while. Anyway, it seems you made your post not much earlier than I made mine. While I agree that talking about this project on various game communities would be beneficial to our project; it is also true that it can cause you problems. I am also an Insider. A while back, I attempted to get some support for this project on the Nintendo forums. While it seems as though quite a few people were interested, it is also true that some people instantly attacked the thread. Apparently they see such actions as soliciting, and are against it. In other words, I'm just telling you to be careful when you promote things on forums. Sometimes they can be a little edgy with their rules.

That's more what I meant when I asked about it earlier. When I say why is it there, I mean what does it do lol.
But let us know when the site is final. So we can post our stuff after that (after we post it here for edits)
