Robo's Petition: What we have here is a failure to communicate.

I meant Robo's image in the All-in-One when I made the original request, I just phrased it wrong. Oh well. If you think the image in the stand-alone needs adjustment too, go for it. I just thought some people who would be irritated at seeing the images of the kids cut off in the All-in-One would appreciate having the full image available in Robo's stand-alone petition. *shrug*

Okay, I can understand your plight with the All-in-One images. If you say it's acceptable when printed out, then I have no more problems with it (apart from Robo's image, but really, that's just a minor little thing that I wouldn't be too broken up about if we just ignored).

Apoc or Jake (or somebody), could you write up a brief little disclaimer to place at the bottom of the petition's page? After that, we'll be good to go. I'd do it myself, but I don't know SPAM about how to write things in "legalese". (Hey, maybe we could get Prop to do it -- he seems to be our go-to guy for getting things worded correctly. )

Disclaimer: The game Chorno Trigger, the original characters, and graphics from the logo are copyright by Square Enix. I'm not the best person to ask, but how does that sound?

I dunno...wouldn't mentioning the logo just call unnecessary attention to it and to the fact that it's technically illegal?

I think Jake's disclaimer is probably the best one to use.

Since I'd rather not have to reupload all of those documents again, would you mind adding that disclaimer to the bottom of the petitions before you use them (if you plan to use them). Though I'd rather us make an original logo, I suppose it is true that finding an artist capable of doing it might take some time. If you feel that so long as we have a disclaimer, it won't be a legal problem, then I am quite ready to see our petition finally be released.

Yeah Jake's is better, I just wrote one to see how it would turn out.
I would say we could change the logo later, but then you run into the legal issue again, that's a big no on that.

Vote for Crono on the Gamefaqs contest! He is running against Mario for the Overall winner of the current tournament! It is amazing Crono isn't at like... 10%. It seems the CT fans are still going strong, and seeing as 35,661 people thus far voted for Crono... that gives me some hope in getting to the goals S-E set before us. Depite these large amounts voting for Crono, he is still losing! Every vote counts, so vote for Crono!


Sure... the contest is pointless, but I can't let a fat Italian plumber win against Crono!!!
...even if he DOES happen to be the king of gaming...

I'm ready to give the guys at CTRP an update. Has anybody else put the disclaimer in the petition yet? (I was gonna do it myself, but then I realized that I don't have anywhere on the Net to upload them to. I dunno, maybe I could do it and then send the disclaimed petitions to someone who'd be able to upload them somewhere?)

Hmmmmm... I had thought Jake was already done with that. Well, if there is anyone to send it to... I'd recommend you send it to Jake. If you don't have his email, you can always use Geocities like I did. It DOES have a lot of horrible bandwidth problems though.

Got in touch with Stoney. Sorry for my absence. Things have been crazy, helping Padmé get out of Houston so Hurricane Rita can wreck the place. Anyway, Padmé's asleep on the couch right now, so I have a chance to catch up around here real quick. Almost time to wake her and make breakfast for her though, so...looks like things are going well. I'll get that new version of the petition hosted as soon as I get it in my email!

I understand what you're going through, Jake -- probably better than you do. Port Arthur, TX is where I was born, and my grandmother is still stuck down there while Rita's trashing the place. The only reason I'm here and not there is because the entire city has become isolated (all roads into and out of it have become blocked) so there's no way to get in except by air, and going by air is suicide in a hurricane. I've been trying to get in touch with my father in Arkansas (which is also getting battered by Rita), but since he recently moved to a different city, he doesn't have landline phone service yet, and wireless service for the entire area is down.

Thus, I'm here in these forums, trying to work on the petition to take my mind off what's happening to my relatives...I guess I'm not doing a very good job of it, though, 'cause I'm still scared to death.

Anyway, moving on. Jake, I sent the petition files to MichaelVash, so he should be getting them to you at any time now. If he doesn't, let me know and I'll send you the files.

In other news: how's the site coming along, Jake? Converted it to English yet?

Just taking a check in to see what is going on.

Seems there was a little uncertainty as to the petition revision. Thankfully, Stoney cleared that up for us. Anyway, is seems everything is pretty much set in motion then, correct? That being correct, I suppose our job here is pretty much almost done in regards to our "initial phase", anyway.. It only took a month to pull that off. Time flys I guess.


This past month has been a rather chaotic one, both in terms of our goals here, and the lives of the members on these boards in regards to unavoidable natural disasters. Regardless, it seems we might possibly soon have everything put in place to start our massive project that shall span the country. In that regard, this project is quite a large endeavor. Of course, even once the distribution starts, whenever that is, there will still be some work to do. For one, we have to advertise. This has been an issue ever since the beginning, right? Now that we are nearing the end of our "initial phase" of setting all of this up... it might be wise to get a bit more in to the specifics of how we will get this petition KNOWN. Afterall, despite the massive number of Chrono Trigger fans, they can't sign our petition if they don't know of it.

I believe the original plan was to inform Slashdot of the petition so they can talk about it on Sept. 27th -- one of CT's many supposed birthdays. That'll be on Tuesday.

But first we need to get the site finished. So I ask again: JAKE, WHAT'S THE HOLDUP?!? HAVE YOU EVEN GOTTEN THE PETITION FILES?? HELLO??? LOOK AT ME, I'M SO IRKED THAT I'M WRITING IN CAPS! BLARG!

I thought we were going to devote this weekend to getting the site up and running. So far, I have seen no progress made on it. NONE. Needless to say, I'm starting to panic. This is the last of CT's birthdays this year, guys. If we miss it, that's it -- we won't be getting featured on Slashdot, and thus, will miss a tremendous opportunity to get some easy publicity.

Jake, you started this project and you got us into it. Don't leave us hanging here, man.

Jake has so much going on already, and then the hurricane came in and he had to help Padme. I mean so what if we don't get featured on Slashdot. It's not the end of the world. I would definately like to if possible, but if not we will figure something else out.

My thoughts exactly, MV. I too would like to see us get it in by CT's birthday deadline, but I also realize that Jake is a very busy person, especially with the whole hurricane catastrophe. This is not Jake's or anyone else's fault. There is no blame to place on anyone for that, don't make that mistake. While getting the info out to Slashdot before the birthday would be helpful, it won't be destroying our project if we miss it.

Furthermore, even if we don't get coverage from Slashdot, we could always try some other methods of advertising.

To Jake: Don't attempt what time won't allow you to do. Take your time, if need be. I'm certain you've had your hands full, especially with the passing of Rita.

I really wish we could've gotten on Slashdot though, that would've been just perfect. Now there's not really that much time to do anything about it--we can't get the site running in just two days, especially weekdays.
