If you ask me, the original ones will always be the best. They were really awesome. The prequels really pale in comparison, and just dont have as many epic moments if you ask me. I also think the story is told better in the original. Oh yeah, Jar Jar Binks is nothing more than a big marketing ploy lol.

This thread doesn't belong in general chat, so I'll move it to "Entertainment" forum.

As long as the topic, I feel neutral about them, I've never been a fan of Star Wars series. I'm not saying that they're not good, I'm just not into them.

I love all of the star wars movies but of the prequels 'The Phantom Menace' was my favorite because Liam Neeson was in it and (having a moment) he is delicious. (moment over)

But I do agree that the originals were better.

Newly Discovered fact: In the original movies, when Luke sees the ghosts of Anikin, Yoda, and Obi Won, Anikin's ghost was played by Sebastian Shaw. However, in a recent re-make of Return of the Jedi, my professor found that they'd replaced Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christansen.

Well people say that they ruined Star Wars but I would not go that far. I love Star Wars and I still remember seeing episode four for the first time. The feeling was like nothing I had ever had, I was all "oohs" and "ahhs" during that movie. Then I worked my way up after watching that one nearly 10 times to go ahead and watch number 5. I remember watching this one and caring less about the super awesome effects and more about the story line. This is the first time that I really cared about the Luke character, before that point I was just to amazed by the light saber. Then when I came time to see the sixth and final chapter I was so excited. I could barely hold my excitement, when I heard the music come on I just about went to heaven. I watched it and was in awe of the graphics and of the story, when it was all done it felt complete. But I finished the movies all before the new ones were even announced so that left me wondering why are they all 4, 5, and 6? This should be one two and three. Then me and my friends came up with the idea that they started with six and were going to end with 1. This of course is not true but we knew nothing. Then I remember the First movie coming out, I saw it and did not think it was half bad. I saw the second and really just did not like it one bit. Then when I saw the third I loved it. I loved the graphics and the final battle is awesome. Then I got them all in my collection and viewed them from start to finish one day and thought wait what is this. When I was watching I got too the fourth movie so I took out three and put in four. Then when I started it up I watched the first 20 minutes and thought to myself, this needed another chapter. I think that at the end of the third movie they should have had Luke as a kid, we know really nothing of his child hood it just starts on the planet with his uncle. So ultimately the new star wars movies while not bad on their own are just not star wars. They needed to make a 3.5 or something because the first 3 just ruin the flow that the last 3 have. I would still say that they are good movies on their own though and all have good acting and great effects.

Sorry that I wrote a whole review, just got too into it.

Of course the originals will always be the best - they were stunning back in the day, the first of their kind. While the prequals may not be the best made movies, I still like the movies themselves and the storyline complimenting the birth of Darth Vader and so on. Also, Episode III is an epic movie nonetheless.

I have a copy of the 'pre-doctored' films on VHS. Han shoots first, Jabba doesn't show up until he's got Han as a wall-hanging, and Vader isn't a whiny emo.

I have yet to find anyone who didn't think Jar Jar should have been used for light saber practice.

I don't think that the prequels stink, but I do think that they weren't as true as they could have been to the originals. They were too far-flung, and the technology used by both sides was a lot more sophisticated than the tech used in the latter trilogy. I have to say the movies weren't bad, though. They did a good job painting Anakin's transition from kid to Darth Vader.

I only liked one of the prequels, and that would be The Phantom Menace. Every other prequel in my opinion kind of sucked to be honest.

All three of the prequels sucked! The should have chose better actors, then they would be at least decent. Revenage of the Sith would have been great with better acting. Especally, Anakin's part.

I love anything Starwars!!!
The Phantom Menace: Liam Neeson did a good job as Qui-Gon Jin. Ewan MacGregor played Obi-Wan well. Jar Jar Binks was pretty funny when he stuck his tongue out to steal the fruit.
The Clone Wars: Mentioned back in the original StarWars...It wasn't as good as the other movies but Samuel L. Jackson rocked the part of Mace Windu. Yoda vs. Count Dooku was epic. That little thing is fast.
Revenge of the Sith: By far one of the best. It was a good way to end the series. So much happened. And the Jedi Order was almost wiped out. The Sith established their empire under the Rule of Two (one master; one apprentice, first mentioned in The Phantom Menace[As a quote of Darth Bane]). The final duel of Anakin Skywalker vs Obi-Wan Kenobi was epic.

I'm not quite sure, the I-III had better graphic's, lightsaber action and better ships and stuff. The IV-VI had a better plot and story line.

I like the Prequels a lot better. Phantom Menace was kind of dull except for Darth Maul, but that was just setting up for the other two. I think the time difference did a lot for the three newer movies. The special effects were a lot better. That alone is enough reason for me, but the Anakin vs. Obi Wan battle was epic. It was also nice to see Yoda actually fighting like a Jedi rather than limping around. The battles and effects just weren't as good back then. I'd say the storylines are about even.

Phantom menace inspired me to play the Nintendo 64 Pod racing game for months.  My father was a Star Wars fan so the force was pretty much law in my home growing up.  I've seen the original trilogy countless times.  When they announced another Star Wars movie, I crapped my pants... not literally....well, maybe just a little.  The Phantom Menace was awesome.  The pod racing scene was epic and the Darth Maul battle had some awesome fighting moves, but a crappy death. Jar Jar didn't bother me too much, but I'm not a fan.  Attack of the Clones had some good moments, but I was extremely annoyed with Padme talking down to Anakin and him just taking that from her.  She's some spoiled rich girl punking out a guy who could slice her and her crew to ribbons with a few swings of his lightsaber. .  He didn't deserve that level of disrespect.  Revenge of the Sith was really great.  So, all in all I appreciate the sequels for staying consistent and giving us some closure.  The Clone Wars animated movie.........  You can shove that chunky poop sandwich where the sun don't shine George...  (Sky guy??) .

Forget it I'll just freaking say it.  Jar Jar was a bandwagon of hate that everybody jumped on.  When I first saw Phantom Menace I liked it, even Jar Jar came across as endearingly cute to me.  Now go on and hate but all you people who say you can't find one person who doesn't hate on Jar Jar well here I am.

I liked the prequels.  I didn't really care much for The Clone Wars, though, but it was watchable.  The original Star Wars trilogy is still my favorite.

It was different, the way they played off the middle three, as those were the middle three in the series, it was nice. The fighting styles are more up to date with toady's desires which I think is why Mr. Lucas started in the middle rather than the beginning. Each one in the series I think dose have its own pros and cons. How they killed off Qui-Gon really sucks in my opinion, but then how else do you leave a Jedi Master flailing around without proper training on how to teach a student. Anakin may have turned out better had Qui-gon not lost the duel with Darth Mal.

I'm sorry to say it but Luke grew up to be a little panzy....no wear near the caliber of Anakin, personally I think Padmé had an affair along the way some where. Leia definitely has Anakins' genes with all the spunk and animosity she shows. How she resembles herself as a true Rebel and one to 'make rules' not just follow them.

I do hope they come out with the last three in the series before I pass, I would really like to see how things play out. The last surviving Jedi is Luke, and god knows he has to create a following for himself, if for no other reason than to keep all the bounty hunters busy. And then you have the romance between Leia and the wild card Han. Once a smuggler, always a smuggler. The only question now is what is he going to smuggle...

I guess I'll stop there...for now...

I do hope they come out with the last three in the series before I pass, I would really like to see how things play out. i didnt even know anyone felt the prequals sucked.  I loved them! revenge of the sith was just epic beyond description, and i love the complexitys and twists in the plot.
Im glad they made them, i really enjoyed them and i preffered them to the originals(although i loved them too)
