Hi All,

I am going to have my new PS3 console here tonight and other than trying to copy my game data from my PS Phat model, also along with the new 320Gb console will be the PS Move. I am a little curious as to how good this thing truly is because I have heard people say that it is better than Wii though I never played Wii before and frankly was not impressed with what I actually did see of the Wii.

Because I am buying my new console in a bundle I am getting the PS Move Sports champions with it as well as the Move controller and camera. I am not use to moving around much when I game so I was wondering if any of my fellow Vizzed members can prepare me for what to expect with the PS Move?

To be honest, I am not in the best shape and I was hoping that at the minimum that it would be a fun excuse to start getting in shape a least in moderation.

Thanks.

I've never tried Move, but I do have a Wii. From what I've read, Move is basically a more functional form of the Wii Remote, and putting something in front of the sensor will really mess with the signal. I can't tell you much more than that. I hope to try it out soon, because their sports champions game looked impressive, but I'm not willing to pay as much as they're asking for it. Good luck, and hope you have fun on your new system :-)

supernerd117 : Well I got the console with Sports champions but I am not planning on doing anything tonight because I will be watching the Mixed Martial Arts pay-per-view but I am planning on getting everything set up (knock on wood) tomorrow. The first thing I have to do is to transfer my data from my old phat PS3 that went down to the YLOD. I am hoping like hell that the slim models aren’t going to be subject to that. I will probably get a Wii at some point because eventually I would like to turn a room in my house into an arcade of sorts with multiple consoles.

I have heard from a couple of people that the Sports champions game is ten times the game that Wii sports is. I just hope that it was worth the money because I am up from an 80GB console to the maximum 320GB. I just hope once I download the PS2 compatibility tool that it will work as it was with my backwards compatible model.

The first thing that I will probably do after the transfer is done (Assuming all goes smoothly) is pull up my Fight Night rankings and see how far I have fallen back since the last time I was able to play in May. I was highly ranked in a couple of weight classes and was actually on a win streak and, actually was playing it when my Phat model went down to the YLOD.

Just tried out PS Move at a Sam's Club today. I had enough time to play 2 games in Sports Champions: Archery and Gladiator fight (or whatever it's called).

I had to play archery with one controller, which seemed pretty weird to me. It was precise for the most part, didn't really get into archery.

On the other hand, The Gladiator Fights gave me a much better feel for the overall motion responsiveness of the controller. It was very precise swining the controller back and forth, some hiccups here and there. VERY simialar, if any different than Wii Motion Plus from what I've experienced, a lot more precise but far from perfect.

A standout with PS Move is that you have to very often calliborate the remote with the camera before each round/match/etc. It's pretty quick and painless for the most part, but I can see how people would get tired of caliborating over and over again...

supernerd117 : Well I got it hooked up today, surprisingly I was able to do the data transfer with relative ease after I got the Ethernet cable connected at both ends (Had to do it twice.) and everything seems to be on there as it was on my 80Gb console which I’m glad for because I really didn’t want to try and get all my trophies and rankings back and such. As for the Move, I haven’t tried it yet but that will be on my agenda tomorrow after I get done doing my write ups.

RideZeLitenin :
As I said I haven’t tried it yet but I will say that when I was hooking everything up and I came across the controller for the Move it stuck me as a little weird but that will make it more interesting I assume once I try it out tomorrow. I will say one thing that struck me as a little odd and maybe I am misinformed here in regard to this but I did not see a charge cable for the Move controller, does anyone know if the standard USB charger that is used for the standard and dual shock controllers are to be used for the Move?

I apologize if I seem a bit out of touch… before today it had been five months since I played my PS3 and being a gamer from the 80s anytime something new comes along in terms of hardware it takes time to get use to. I remember back in I think it was 1989 though it might have been a little later or it may have even been a little before that when Nintendo released the Power Glove.

I could never get the Power Glove working exactly right and it was hell trying to play punch out with it. When I finally beat Tyson (back in the day.) it was the old fashioned way thumbs & timing… But I do remember there was such a build up over this Power Glove deal and after I couldn’t get it to work properly I won’t lie I felt a little ripped off.
