At first, I though on any SNES game. After hours trying to beat the game all you got was a THE END sentence. Frustrating

However, thinking better...the worst ending trophy goes to...Limbo of the Lost! For those who are luck enough not to know it, Limbo of the Lost, released in 2007, is a "point-and-click" game (Monkey Island style) that became famous for being a carbon copy of various games, including Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Unreal Tournament 2004 and Painkiller, with dialogues taken out from the films Spawn and Pirates of the Caribbean. The photos are there since the game came out and nobody doubts that it was a shamelessly plagiarism (sorry, no pics here. As I'm a newbie I just can't post them. I look forward for the day that I'll finally became a true member, leaving behind such obscure condition ). Anyway, even discounting this factor, the game is one of the worst ever made since the Atari 2600 ET.

The plot revolves around the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle and seems to have been taken from a book of the same name from the 70's. Anyway, the more attractive features are not how bad the game is nor the fact that it had blatantly plagiarized other games, but its end, which is truly epic and deserves to be watched in its whole, even though it makes no sense:

I'd say Chrono Trigger had some bad endings in it, like where everyone's a reptite, and marle's a frog. Secret of Mana had a pretty crummy ending too. I mean, what ever happended to the sprite? was he a spirit forever?

The worst ending I have seen was from a game called Haven: Call of the King for the PS2. It was a game where they pretty much took the original Jak game and beat it senseless with the stupid stick. It was downright broken. The nail in the coffin was both the regular and the "secret" ending.
The story was that the main baddie infected everyone with a virus that needed a constant supply of a vaccine just to stay alive. One guy had a vision of a hero and a bell so he pretty much went on a planet hopping adventure to find the bell and call the hero to save the day.
Everything goes south when you do because after the hero shows up, the big bad infects him with the virus, shackles him, and leaves him to die, same goes for the protangonist. And that's the main ending, but it gets "better".
To see the secret ending, you need to find a series of rune temples on all of the planets, and they are (insert explicitive here) hard to find.
So what happens when you succeed?
After the credits you get a list of cliffhanger questions for the sequal that never got made because the game was so bad.
So bummer ending+pointless secret ending=LAME!!!

I thought i would kick there soviet butts back to russia,but instead you battle all the way thru the game just to eek out a small resistance faction.And the soviets are still there.

You'd play through the ENTIRE FRIGGEN IMPOSSIBLE GAME only to find out that you have to play it all over again.

the end of Dantes Inferno was a complete waste it acually ends the game with a maybe. i mean really like there isent another game coming out

I thought FF7 had a pretty crappy ending myself. The entire game was great up to that point, but the ending made me angry. Back then the makers of the game had not planned on making a sequel movie or prequel games (I know this because I read an interview with the makers of the game). So the ending didn't make sense. Why leave a game open for some kind of sequel if you weren't planning on making a sequel?

Halo 2 had a pretty dumb ending, as Halo fans already know what I mean. I think Ghosts N Goblins had the worst ending. After all that bullcrap you go through to beat it, you.....HAZ TO BEAT IT AGAIN? NOEZ! And if you DO somehow beat it again, you get a crappy ending full of misspellings and such.

The worse of all time has to be Mario is Missing. This game is bad already then at the end it is just a huge disappointed. I can't exactly remember why but needless to say I was pretty mad about it.

Super Mario Brothers 2... Man how I hate games with endings to find that you wake up realizing you've dreamed the whole thing...

The worst video game ending for me is spectrobes you never really kill the boss for good you just stop him that kinda upset me out

For me it is super mario 2. you go through all those enemies,bosses,and obstacles just to find out it was all a stupid dream! Diablo 1's ending sucked to. He stabed himself in the head with a rock!

I personally think the worst ending I have ever seen to a video game is the ending to Ghostbusters on the NES. I mean first you have to play through that god-awful mess of a "game" just to get an ending filled with horrible spelling, punctuation, and translation errors:

"Conglaturation !!! YOU HAVE COMPLETED A GREAT GAME. AND PROOVED THE JUSTICE OF OUR CULTURE."

I'm gonna have to go with the ending to Final Fantasy 10-2. NEver really liked it, and it seemed more like fan service than canon. Seriously, he comes back in the good ending. Really? Why can't he stay make believe like he was supposed to be. I don't care how happy it is.

flambeau : What the %$^& did I just watch lol. At least with other video game endings you just get angry over how bad it is and that's it but you sit there and wander what you just watched with that ending.

I'd say the ending to kingdom hearts chain of memories. The ending just left you hanging.

Another ending that is TRULY horrendous is the ending to Zelda Wand of Gamelon

The conclusion makes no sense, the bad guy merely gets sentenced to scrubbing all the floors in Castle Hyrule and the bit the end where Zelda and the king start laughing is just plain terrifying
