Recently there has been a bit of coverage on Tv regarding Paedophile Clergymen.
Without going into too much detail this makes me very angry, especially when many escape punishment and are hidden from the authorities and the public.
I would like to know people's honest thoughts and feelings regarding this matter,and what type of punishment should these people be given by the authorities.

these guys should be punished to the full extent of the law. If the accusations are true then I see no reason to protect them. If the Catholic Church (and any other church with this problem) actually cared about it's members then it would take action instead of hiding these guys and protecting them. It makes me sick.

Its really quite a shame that priests do these things. These people are supposed to be leaders to believers. Its quite unfortunate that these leaders set such a bad example. Its people like this who give Christianity a bad rep. These priests should be punished greatly for these things.

Golvellius : I think it's disgusting. And this is why I don't believe in Catholics confessing to a priest who could be a potential pedophile or serial killer. I think all priests who have a police record or caught in the act of committing a crime should actually be sentenced to life in prison. That is exactly why you shouldn't confess your sins to anyone but god...in fact not too long ago..there was a priest here in new york convicted of pedophilia with young boys...who knows how long he's been doing it. He doesn't deserve to see the light of day again!
