hmmm... I see what you were going for now that you mentioned it, but when I first read it I interpreted it the opposite way actually. I read it as the person was enjoying life too much to waste their time with the countdown. Both interpretations make valid points though. Living in sin believing there will always be time to repent could lead to an unexpectedly hot wake up call... but obsessing over the end also means that you are wasting the joy that life has to offer.... you definitely got the thought provocation right, good job.

We tend to think in day-to-day, binary thoughts while ignoring the future consequences and the long term effects of such behaviour. I also interpreted it as how so out of tune many of us are with the world around us. There is an actual apocalypse happening (well, the effects of climate change are pretty bad, but calling it an apocalypse does sound like a bit of a stretch to me) and yet we do not even notice. Brilliant work supernerd117!
