biggie101 : Honesty is always the best policy… If the girl lied to you about her age it should stand out like a bright red flag on a bright sunny day. I would be up front and honest with the parents and say that you did not know although that might be viewed as a cop out. It is a delicate situation so there isn’t really an easy answer but, if a girl lies to you about something important like that it isn’t worth putting yourself through, especially if you’re older which since you’re being theoretical I’d assume you are.


One thing is definite though. It certainly would change how I would approach a romantic relationship with any woman in the future. As I said if a girl would lie to you about something that important it certainly isn’t worth the stress attached to it and, it definitely should smarten you up because if you were to continue a relationship with a girl even after being lied to about her age it doesn’t speak well of you as a person and for someone to continue something like that after being made aware is pure idiocy and opens the door for problems later.


If someone were to ignore something like that and continue a relationship with a girl, to be frank with you; would not draw any sympathy from me. The fact is if you’re lied to in a situation like this and are made aware of the deception, you as the Adult have the opportunity to make things right not only for the girl and her parents but most importantly yourself. If you ignore something like that for what ever reason it is on you. It isn’t worth having people think ill of you if you are a good person.

Be smart and do the right thing.

I don't think that would work, since angry fathers in this situation tend to not care about what you say

If this is true which he hasn’t said the best thing he can do is wash his hands of this girl, walk away and, cut his losses.

It is better for someone to maintain their dignity and principals by walking away and thus doing the right thing if he truly did not know this girl’s age.

marioisawesome : I guess that is one way to go about it but in the heat of the moment it can be difficult to think of that as ridiculous as it may seem. I come from an old school way of doing things. Most of my relationships have resulted from meeting people when I was in school. I realize that it is a little different for everybody but, in my case I didn’t need to verify a girl’s age because normally we were in the same classes.

Based on what he’s said though which seems a little vague quite frankly, if he was in this situation but is talking theoretically, the best thing he can do for himself is as I said to walk away with dignity and, principal and, cut his losses. If this really did happen to him though I would also obviously be concern about any repercussions coming about.
