I was so dissapointed to see the way they took final fantasy games starting around 6... maybe5, idk never played 5, but they killed the whole sword 'n' sheild, ninja monk samurais and all the good stuff.. dark forests and mountain paths.. They turned it into Machines and crap.. 6 was like.. every town sat on metal.. the castles they had were boring. 7... they had a freaken town MADE of metal.. *sigh* and they had guns.. CMON! >< 8 the guys sword was a gun, that was lame... 9 and 11 are the only Old Fashioned FF games..

Acctually. I know this one. Final Fantasy was the companies last shot at making money before it went under. Hence 'final'. It was its last shot. The game boomed and rocketed into what we have now. It was pretty lucky. They put all their marbels into one basket.

ya, thats true, and some games can have a mix of technology and castles and still be a good game, take chrono trigger for instance, 600A.D. and 1000A.D. had castles, while 1999 A.D. and ...3000? had domes, and what was the bc? like 6 mil or something, i just recently started playing again and i got to the Proto Dome and fixed Robo (Who i named chewy lol) and am going ot the factories to the north to fix the power so i can get back to my time. Did that in a bout 2-3 hours of playing and it was fun ;p

Personally I loved the whole "science and sorcery" old meets new of the later FFs.

I FREAKING LOVED the moving Figaro castle in FF6

Also think the gunblades of FF8 are a great idea. Nice to see them used in FF Advent Children

I think that some game need to evolve in different way, just like ff 7 ... squaresoft was right to do that coz ff is the best game series ever and they made a lot of money with it too ... all this to say that I dont care about sword , magic , metal , and all that because the storyline is good!

ps : a really good game mixed with sword and metal is Star ocean
