Been here a couple days. Already hate the heat, as usual, but at least the post is nice. It's got cool facilities, like a giant warehouse building with two bars inside, arcade, big dance floor, those electronic slot game things that are at bars in the US. And Wi-Fi everywhere. They even have a Chiles here with a decent swimming pool right out back. And jacuzzi, although I don't know who'd want to use it in a fickin' desert. Not a bad place here. It's just too bad I'm being deployed to Afghanistan from here in a couple days.

Seriously, how do my orders change from going to Kuwait, to Qatar to Afghanistan?

I was kidding. I know that being on military is a very difficult job. You have to move all the time, and go to dangerous places, like Afghanistan etc.
But it's good that they give you a cool spot for accommodation, at least

Well, about 7 years ago I was enlisting in the Marine Corps and I scored 15% above the requirement for the ASVAB-qualification, but my probation status hindered me from enlisting. When my probation was over after 3 years, I was no longer motivated to enlist.

If not for my probation, who knows where I'd might be, dead or alive... I'm still debating whether or not to enlist... I'm not sure of Qatar, but the rest of it seems benefiting to my situation...

I can assure you, while the terrorist threat level is "HIGH", there is nothing going on here. Qatar is a pretty safe place. Some of the installations are nice too. I plan on getting a pedicure and swimming today if I have time.
