magicarp is not useless it can learn flail, bounce ( i think) and the most powerfull move ever SPLASH ATTACK jk but i roccomend magicarp you can evole it, but its kinda funny when it uses spash attack so its not that useless

You can get Gyarados without getting magikarp in most games through most OF the game, but I prefer to use a magikarp just to prove to people his epicness.

I think that they should have used Magikarp as a pokeball pokemon in SSBB instead of Goldeen.

Meh, I don't really like Magicarp at all. He's just a sucky version of Mudkip in my opinion, I prefer just getting his evolved form than waiting forever to evolve him, it's just not worth it in my opinion.
