I believe that 12 cups is recommended for the average human to consume each day.

I'm talking like your weight in water in a few short hours back to back. 12 cups is the recommended. I drink about 10 glasses plus juice and teas (2-4 more) per day. If you aren't drinking that much you will get dehydrated.

There was a lady in the news who died from too much water, on a side note. However, she was partaking in a water drinking contest. They had to see who could drink the most water without peeing. She won but she died because she held it too long and drown. There were even people calling in telling them it was dangerous and to stop but she needed the money from the contest I guess. Seeing as you actually get water from the food you eat (or at least you should, as water is found in fruits and vegetables), you don't necessarily have to drink 12 glasses a day. I drink about 6-8 tall glasses of liquid a day because I eat so much fruit in the first place.

well i think at least water is healthier than drinks with sugar like soda. at least it is good when there is a time you are out in the heat and you need to drink something to keep yourself from getting hydrated.

If you drink all 12 cups at once, well, it IS possible (although insanely improbable) to die from over consumption of water; there's less than 1 case per year of that on average though, meaning you really have to be TRYING to die that way to do so. If the drinks are spread out across the day though, it's probably pretty healthy for you.

There's no such a thing as drinking too much water. Water is the healthiest liquid you could drink....personally I drink the same amount of water as you. . So no, drinking that amount of water isn't bad. The worst that could happen is using the bathroom several times.
