I play video games to releave boardome and stress. I also play video games as a hobby.

I play video games because they're fun. They are something you can do whenever you want to, too.

I play them to relive stress sometimes, but the main reason I play them is because I have fun when I do

seeron : Like many, I play video games as a stress release. I also find that the games are constructive ways to take up time and a way to enhance one’s skills. Whether it is an action adventure game or something that requires thinking to advance in a game I feel it helps.


I have also heard numerous stories on the news recently that some rehabilitation facilities are using the Nintendo Wii and PS3 as rehabilitation tools to incorporate into patents treatments. Games are quite good for hand/eye coordination as well as if someone is rehabbing an injury; I’ve heard that the Nintendo Wii can be very useful to get people moving.


I think that video games get a bad rap from politicians who think somehow that by playing video games regularly that it will somehow diminish a child’s learning development and or encourage violent behavior. I prefer to think of it slightly different… I feel that children need other things in order to develop skills that would help them in their education. As far as games potentially encouraging violent behavior, I have not personally heard any stories of any crimes being committed by people who were inspired by a video game.


Although you can’t outright dismiss any concerns I prefer to think of video games as a potential learning tool that will help children learn easier. Another thing that someone has to take into account is that the technology has advanced leaps and bounds from where video games were 25-30 years ago. Like everything else in this world, technology continues to evolve in all areas. I say why not make good use of it? ? And of course video games are fun and enjoyable..

Video games are my way of life. I really have nothing else to do. They are very fun to play, especially having the previledge to play a good game like Ninja Gaiden, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, Castlevania, Metroid, and a lot more.

I play video games because I have nothing good to do(expect going on here and pokefarm.org).

Because,

1. It's fun.
2. I'm an only child, so there's really nothing TO do.

I play video games because it is a chance to do things that you ordinarily could not do in real life. You can become a character and become involved in a story.This is why I like rpg's the most. I also love the art in the the Japanese games and games like Ico and Okami.

That almost answers it's self, IT'S FUN! Collecting them is one of my hobbies.

I got 12 SNES Games, 15 NES Games, and 5 (Soon to be 4) Playstation 1 games.

Often times, I am very stressed out, and the only thing that can soothe me, are my video games. However, I don't get like that too often. I usually just play for fun.

First of all I play because it's fun and it also helps me calm down when I'm upset. It's my most favorite thing to do on the planet. I can't go a day without gaming, that would drive me nuts if I don't game.

I play games either because im bored or im in an interested mood and want to know the story and just play the game in general.

I play games because they're fun, that or to waste time, or because I'm with a friend. That and I've played games since I was 2, and it's hard to stop after playing them so long. Also because I have no other real hobby, besides being on the computer.

I play video games to get away from my actual life. Life is hard and then when I play a difficult video game I can relate to the main character. I see them as me trying to get through life un scaved. I also play them because I am addicted.

I play games because I like it and that's motive enough for me

Well... I kinda have no life, and look ugly, so I feel aroused when I see Cloud Strife... it makes me feel loved.

Joking aside, I have a crapload of reasons. Guess what? You guys, the people who use this site, get the amazing chance to read all my reasons! And I get Viz for it!

This isn't a reason, but when I began gaming at the age of 3 or 4, I was suffering from movement problems. Once I began playing video games, I began to become more mobile in the places that were suffering from the movement problem. Gaming cured me, as it seems. Quite a beautiful story considering no one ever thinks about the great things gaming has done for people.

Gaming has been my favorite activity since the day I got into it. It's helped me through life practically. I have a lot on my plate, and being a child with special needs, and being suspected of having some form of autism all my life, gaming was the best thing I ever got into. It helped me not even feel the pain of all the bullying I got when I was in 6th grade. Religion sorta helped that, too, but I would forget every problem I had when I picked up my PS2 controller. Gaming simply is the thing in my life that is a want, but it has helped me get through things, and it's taught me things like words I'd never learn before 6th grade.

I have depression, and am very fragile when it comes to self-esteem. Beating a game is like giving food to a hungry child to me when it comes to making me feel so good. It gives me something to hold onto when I forget about the other things that also get me through my hopelessness bouts. It brings me... happiness when I can't find anything that is good.

It gives me goals to set, and things to look forward to. I have few non-gaming short term goals. Go figure. It's always something I know I can look forward to, as well. When you've got fears of anxiety attacks often like me, this is a Godsend.

Really... It just is the third type of therapy for me, as well. I have tons of problems when it comes to social skills and the like due to having Asberger's. Guess what is helping me with the less visual and audible social stuff? Gaming! I'm in a guild on Runes of Magic. That guild was in another game I played, and I've been in this guild for over a year almost. It seems like ever since I joined, I've noticed my self esteem get better, and my social skills are a lot better thanks to the guild. I even feel as if the guild is my second family.

I have even more reasons besides the typical, but those are just a few.

Well, I play video games for several reasons.

It was really hard to make friends even when I first started school in Kindergarten. The main reason is because no one there(all Mexicans in my class) wanted to be friends with a black kid. I'm not the best-looking, but I look pretty average. So instead of having friends to play with, I would usually just(secretly) play my Game Boy Color at school. It was awesome.

When I got home from school, I would usually just play some awesome N64 games since I had a lot of them (I only have 4 left ) Playing Super Smash Bros. with my brothers was fun. Then, they all of a sudden didn't want to play because they were "busy." Yeah, smoking weed in the backyard and drinking alcohol and sometimes getting tattoos is REALLY important, eh?

Most games I play are pretty fun because I'm addicted to achievement and such. I always get excited when I unlock new characters, weapons, cheats, and other stuff.

That's just some of my reasons, but I am too lazy to say the rest

4. To release stress and/or just plain fun when i hang out with friends

I play for fun. Also, I play for the "experience" of just being able to play the game, get to know the gameplay, and just to have fun. ( One of these games is Kirby's Epic Yarn, which I haven't played and really want to feel the playing experience. That is why I just CAN'T WAIT UNTIL CHRISTMAS TO GET THE GAME!!!!)
