I personally loved Spike. I've watched Buffy several times and he's one of my favorite characters from that show.

I don't think he's the best vampire.... that is obviously Edward , but Spike is by far my favorite.

Dracula, because he actually has some historical basis (Vlad the Impaler and Countess Elisabeth Bathory).

Now if we are going with specific incarnations of Dracula, well then Bela Lugosi is still my favorite despite the movie being made in 1931. Though I have to admit others have done very nice jobs in the portrayal... but they didn't have the accent and inflections that Lugosi did.
