Now I know there's a lot to choose from, but this is Final Fantasy villains we're talking about!
Myself, I chose Kefka. In my opinion, there is no one more deadly, evil, twisted, vain, or downright nasty is this guy.

Lemme know who you're best villain is! Reasons could be favorite boss fight, how they act, their looks, special moves, whatever!

I had to go with Zeromus for a few reasons. 1 is that he was the first Final Fantasy end-game boss i ever beat. FFIV was also my first ever FF game. Second is that he utilized the evil in the hearts of man. Easiest way to gain control in my opinion. Third, is that i have only beaten a few Final Fantasy games unfortunately. Name FFIV, FFV, and FFX. I plan to rectify that and beat FFI first and move up from there.

The dark scourge that murdered Aeris, Sephiroth, would definitely take the role of the most ruthless villian in the Final Fantasy series. First to gut another character similar to what happen to Reks on FF12. In FF7 it made me weep sadly to see poor Aeris in the receiving end of Sephiroth's blade which made many say to Sephiroth "you b***ard!"

Um, Kefka! Kefka is a crazy, maniacal villain who thinks killing people is hilarious. He poisons an entire river and a whole town dies because of it, and he laughs about it, saying he loves the screams of innocent people dying. The only evil thing Sephy did was kill Aerith, and trust me, that ticked me off. But Kefka? The guy kills everybody for fun, and even goes against his own master for supreme power. He kills Ifrit and Shiva also. Sephiroth just stands around the whole time and look B.A., and comes close to becoming an actual god, but he fails. Kefka actually does stuff that kills people, laughs about it, and he actually becomes a god.

So, in the long run, Kefka rules. PERIOD.

Alright, I think there's a thread like this before but oh well haha.
Now, we can argue all we want about whether or not Sephiroth or Kefka's better, but Kefka just is better.
I still like Sephiroth as a villain, but he's not as bad as Kefka. I mean, he's a clown/jester dude who ends up tearing up the world and just punishing people with a frickin beam of light from the sky. That's pretty darn bad.
And, he's not always that powerful. He had to obtain it, and he got more powerful as the game went on. Sephiroth's power is mostly the same. Alright, so he killed Aerith. Big deal. And they only made him have Super Nova so he could look all cool and all.
Kefka basically succeeded in destroying the world. And I like his quote in the end of the game how he ponders about why people continue to fight and rebuild. He's got more personality than some of the previous ones too, since all they want is world domination or destruction.
