So Im standing at the gas pump. This dude walks by smoking. He just tosses the butt my way. It rolls on the ground towards me and every scene of a gas station exploding in a movie is going through my head. The cigarette butt rolls and just stops near the pumps. I do like I always do and stomp it out...then the glare. I really hate that. Its bothersome not only because its rude as hell and its littering, but its also dangerous to some degree. Butts in my yard, parking lot, gas station terminal,EVERYWHERE. Throw that crap away! Id like to know from you guys. Does this peev you off as well or am I overreacting?!?

Yea I don't think that a cigarette can even ignite gasoline, I think I had tried before. But most cigarette smokers have bad smoking etiquette, thats why they always get banned. Like at the beach you cant smoke on the sand anymore because most smokers saw the beach as a giant ashtray for some reason.

sorry to dissapoint you guys but smokers are not the root of all evil. You guys act like just because somebody smokes they are a bad person. I will agree not all of us are responsible enough with our cigarette butts, but I think something like the recent oil leak of BP probably polluted the planet more than all the cigarette buts of all time. And for the original post I agree it was extremely rude to throw it out irresponsibly at a gas station, it does scare people, but they won't start a fire. Its funny this post is on here cuz I just won a 20 dollar bet with my girlfriend yesterday over the question would a cigarette cause a fire like in the movies with gas. It just puts it out.

This was not intended to be a "smokers suck lets burn em with fire" conversation. I think smokers can do whatever they want to themselves. Just be responsible and throw your damned butts somewhere more appropriate! How would you feel if I threw away all my unused plastic shreds from my models and transformers kitbash hobby in your yard. Imagine goin out to your porch and finding like little mounds of shredded hard to sweep plastic all over your garden. Youd be like WTF MAN....theres a trash can right there ya lazy bastich! Just so you guys know...I know it doesnt start a fire like that. Its just unnerving on a subliminal level. To the original post, yea i know how you feel. When i walk around my neighborhood not only do i see mounds of them sporadically, but anywhere i go its a huge dirtpile of them. While i understand smoking is a thing many people do, im pretty sure most people were raised with manners instead of a cigarette in their mouth. Its a shame so many people do this but there are a few good ones. Some of my friends make sure to stomp it out and put it in a garbage

Thats awesome. I have ONE friend who does that. My homeboy Travis will not litter. He saves his "halfies" and "refrys" in a little plastic baggie or just throws em away. I didnt want it to be like this...but Im seeing a trend. Smokers all seem to be whiny as hell and miss the point! This wasnt about smokers and non smokers. It was about the aggravation at the lack of respect for non smokers and the absolute lack of respect for littering. You guys on here talking about non smokers surrounding your house with burning torches and pitch forks need to go have a drag and chill out! I merely expressed my aggravation about smokers that litter and disrespect those around them by not observing some simple smoker etiquette.

Yeah, it really ticks me off when I see someone smoking in public. My little bro has asthma and I'm allergic, so it's not really fun to be around it. And especially if they do it in the car with kids! I feel sorry for the kids who have to deal with that. I feel blessed that my parents don't smoke.
