there will definitely be a remake Tetsuya Numora announced it but he said he would not work on production he also noted that music scores originally writen will be implemented with up dated sound and Guitars Ex(New version of One Winged Angel not advent children version ether)

I cant wait till it comes out...

I think people want a remake just to feel the same thing when you first bought ff 7 ... you know when it was a new game and all ... i was so exited each time i played coz there was always undiscovered places to explore.. People just need to play the best storyline ever with a little new twist you know thats why i think they should make a remake

Oh of course not, but you're putting forward Disgaea instead.

I mean really, if you want example of "good" storyline then Odin Sphere or Valkyrie Profile is the way to go.

a japanese game magazine interviewd tetsuya nomura about the gossip of the remake and he said that it would not be a remake, "we want to give the fans a variation thats why we are focusing on ff 13 and versus" but this other guy (i don´t remember his name right now) who is the director of the ff saga said that he asked the team that made kingdom hearts why they join square enix and they said "we are fans of ff7 and we would like to made a remake of it" so...i think is just a matter of time and patience and of course it would be an exclusive of ps3 there is no other way

And like I said before, I would buy a PS3 just to play the remake.

It's also good to hear that there's still a possibility of a remake. I just think Sony would be foolish not to get this game remade, would help the PS3 so much.

I heard it's gonna be realeased later after Final Fantasy XIII is released.

sadly thats probally the case for alot of FF7 fans.
i think also that if they re-released FF7 but called it FF14 instead it wouldnt get as many sales as the original if people only had the gameplay and such to go off of.
unfortunatly like 80% of anyone that i meet that likes FF7 doesnt even know why and just spouts gibberish.
some of you guys at least give me hope now but, cause you have actual reasons for liking it.
but i still think FF8 or 9 deserve spin offs/re-makes as much if not more then 7

also im a facts man so just because some people joined the company cause "we would like to made a remake of it" doesnt mean they have that much say in like anything.
and i think Tetsuya Nomura is 100% right in focusing the company in the way it is now, giving FF fans more varity.

if i am convinced to buy an xbox360 or ps3 it will be because of number of good games, not one

Well like I've also said before, the PS3 has yet to release a game that would be good enough for me to justify spending all that money on a PS3.

Even if they remake FFVII, i don't think it would be enough to bring sony out of their hole. Becuase once the fans have baught copies the other target audience happens to be a large amount of people who prefer just fighting, sports games or family/group games (thanks to the wii).

Sure they'll get a large amount of money from the fans, but being a business Square would want more than just their current FFVII fan base to buy the game.

Personally I wouldn't buy the remake as I've met too many of the FFVII fans who have never played any other Final Fantasy and who spout nonsense about how it's better than the others that they've never tried. This actually put me off the game.

So I've played a good number of FF games and I still think FF7 is by far the best.

Well, there isn't a full-fledged remake. They're too busy working on XIII and XIII Versus to make a PS3 remake. However, in Japan, they've released a semi-remake of FFVII on PSN. It's better than nothing.

Well it's technically not a remake, it's just a re-release but for the PS3. Not sure if they added anything but I would assume the graphics would look a little better.

I'm not sure about the graphics but they translated it better and there's a new cutscene.

That is lot of Final Fantasy's. Crystal Chronicles was fun.
Before i actually joined this forum most of the FFVII fans i had met were in game stores or fanboy/girls at conventions. They're the ones that mainly put me off FFVII. I'll probably will replay it sometime this year now that i have some more spare time.
