There's also a video available as what the Final Fantasy 7 Remake "tease" looks like. It's apparently just a "demo" to show off Playstation 3. They say there wont actually be a Final Fantasy 7 remake, but after watching that video, it really gets you wishing.

We can only hope, I guess...

I saw it "live" on E3 aswell, and if you noticed, it was called a "Tech Demo"
Also, if you check every single big website, and look it up, they confirm that it's not an actual game.

Yeah just a tech demo. I mean it is possible but very doubtful. Don't hold your breath. I would like to see this for FF VI. lbock3 I think you are talking about Final Fantasy VII Advent Children.

I must say, it would be very impressive to have a FF7 remake. FF7 is my favorite of thr FF series and those pics from the E3 demo are just awsome.

I mean hey, they've danced around the concept of a remake with this trailer, along with all this Dirge of Cerberus and the other games, not to mention Advent Children... It wouldn't surprise me all that much if Square said it was real.

Long long ago, square was talking about a FF7 remake for PS2 which would be packed with Advent children.

I have really mixed feelings on this. I almost feel as if a remake would cheapen the original creation in some way. The screenshots are really nice, and FF7 for PS3 would make about 10 million people buy a PS3 to play it.

I think that if squaresoft really knows how much final fantasy fans want a FFVII remake they would go all out on making it,but i dont think they really know how bad most fans want this game to come out so I think it depends on if they noticed there fans reaction at E3 then they might actually make one because they would know it would be sucessful!! and sell alot of copies, I know if it comes out, im going to buy it because FFVII was one of my favoirtes,spite the graphics,So if FFVII remake cames out with good graphics it would have an awsome story and awsome graphics combined into one really great game.

You actually think Square doesn't know? They know. They would have to be total complete (feel free to add any more words like total or complete that you can think of to get the wanted emphasis) idiots not to. I wouldn't be surprised if they got letters every week begging for a sequel or remake. I just hope Advent Children is good and does well. Then maybe we will have a shot at a remake. But really there are other games that need a real remake more. FF VI and Chrono Trigger for example.

Actually, I sadly would NOT be surprised if Square is oblivious to the demand for a remake. Remember, we're still talking about the same company that -- despite Secret Of Mana's MASSIVE success -- ditched the American version of Secret Of Mana 2 for one reason: Secret Of Evermore didn't do well. Not a smart decision at ALL. Evermore had nothing to do with Mana except a similar combat and menu system. Evermore had a lousy story, depressing music, and pale colors (the result of being built from scratch in the American offices instead of the Japanese ones).



Okay, so then you'd think they'd learn from the mistake. But no...then they started making the Final Fantasy rereleases... Anthologies, Chronicles, etc. Chrono Trigger wasn't a FF game, but it made it into those. Mana was a direct offshoot of Final Fantasy, and it would have been a perfect opportunity to not only re-release Mana, but finally release Mana 2...and as solid evidence of its popularity, have a look at the Top 10 SNES games on GameFAQs. Seiken Densetsu 3 (SoM 2) is always solidly in the top 10. Not bad for a game that never saw our shores, huh?



Don't get me wrong, Square is full of geniuses...but there are always morons to make up for it.

They did put Sword of Mana out on the GBA but I never played it, so I'm not sure what it is about.


I think they know people want a remake/ sequel to FF VII and that is why they are making the movie.

It would be awesome if we could start a campaign to get Chrono Trigger remade and maybe Secret of Mana 2 packaged with it. I consider it my 2nd or 3rd favorite RPG. (FF VII being 1st) They would have to make a bit more to the story maybe, but it would be pretty awesome if they did it right.

For those of you who order EGM, they confirmed that there WILL be a FF7 Remake, it'll be the same game of course, but with MUCH better graphics of course (and i'm sure they'll add a few new things).

I respect all of you guys but why in the name of Satan's trousers do you actually WANT a remake of FF7? What the f**k is wrong with the original? Or are you just worried that there isn't enough lack of originality and grave robbing crap on the shelves as it is? Can you think of a SINGLE 80s arcade game that hasn't been remade?
The games industry is the little brother of cinema and TV and seems to be catching the same hereditory disease. How many cheap crappy Hollywood remakes are out there? 1 in 5 films produced these days appears to be a remake. Ooh gee whizz it's Oscar season. Does this mean we get original provocative cinema? Nope just formulaic unimaginative biopics and vaguely cerebral political thrillers.
I can't go to the pictures without seeing a remake/ comic adap/ film based on an old sitcom or whatever copyright expiry du jour the sausage machine decides to churn out.
I would have thought with video games being such a young medium it'd take longer to go this way but just how many ORIGINAL HIGH CONCEPT games do you see on the shelves?
I love FF7 but can't think of any reason on Earth what the point would be in remaking it. Better graphics? whoopee dooo. Excuse me while I soil myself!
Do gamers really need development studios to insult their collective intelligence to this extent? Do they think we are that stupid that we can be placated by pretty pictures and won't look beyond the surface for anything resembling substance?

I'm playing FF6 at the moment and it is in my opinion quite literally perfect. nothing is broke about it so why fix it?

I feel exactly the same about FF7!
