Wisconsin may have the legal drinking age by 19...i dont know if it's been voted on or not, but heres an article

Personally, I think it's a bad idea, but I'm against drinking all together...

I wish we could change it here. Because you get your P's (nearly fully licence) at 18, and thats also the legal drinking age.. So its kinda bung.

Do you (american) guys actually obey the laws of drinking? we don't here... underaged drinking is common... all too common if u ask me... a survey was done a while ago, 10-12 year olds had to name 5 Prime ministers and 5 alcholic beverage brands. few could name 5 P.M. but most could name 5 brands... quite the discovery eh?

Nuff said. I have to say I am for this bill. I am not gonna lie, I drink while being underage. Another things to be honest with.... I was drunk Saturday.:X But yeah I think its a good idea.

You Wisconians can hardly function when sober let a lone being drunk. Geeze...19? Baaaad idea. One time when I was at Jared's, me and Jared were driving around and a drunk lady like...wanted to fight or somethin'...she was all yellin' and stuff...baaad drunk Wisconians...I'm glad I'm not from around there...

Well, I'm nearly 21 anyway now, so I don't think I'd flock to Wisconsin if it did pass. However you might see and increase in the number of transfer students at the state colleges from other states.

Me personally, I am half and half there... most do it anyway, so might as well make it legal, but then again they will do it more if it is, and that could lead to some rather bad things.

Yea, we do. Lemme put it like this. When you are growing up and you say 'well, everybody does it' and your parents say 'no, not everybody does'. Well in this case, they couldn't say that. Because practicly everybody does. Atleast in my community. If they haven't done it by the end of highschool...... they prolly don't get out much. And consequently prolly don't have many friends.

That second part is kinda the same here when how Joe Camel (old logo for camel ciggerettes) was more widely known than Micky Mouse (possibly the most famous cartoon character ever created).

But yes, Wisconsin, oh the state of beer and cheese. Oh the love of packers, beer, and brats. All at lambou field on a freezing december day.

Ok, i'm better. I just think that making drinking acceptable and legal while most kids are in college would lead to the society accepting college partying. And it prolly just wouldn't work out very well. I wouldn't be pissed off if it did pass. I just think it would most likely be bad

I can't understand why it should be lowered .

Oh well, since it will allow more people to buy it legally, it will decrease the alcohol black market, I think...

It would indirectly help the economy. By this i mean more people would buy beer. Beer is a taxable substance and therefore teh goverment makes more money. You can say that the fine go directly to the goverment but the fines don't even cover the court costs.

There isn't really a black market for beer... its more or less just people getting others to get them beer. Black markets are more like selling counterfit CDs.

Well if this passes, there will certainly be more deaths in wisconsin.

- in 2004 (US), an estimated 16,654 people were killed in alcohol-related crashes
(an average of one almost every half-hour)

So yeah, this would just make it more dangerous for the rest of us to be on the highways at night in wisconsin

Ummm....That does'nt seem to stop adults from driving drunk

What this law also soesn't take into consideration is the increase in sale of alcohol to people under 19. IE: High school students. Increased amounts of them drinking and driving and drinking related injuries. Becasue serriously... you are more likely to get someone who just graduated to buy you booze than someone who is an adult. You kno?

Our drinking age is 18 so i really don't see what the problem is...
