Well since there is no Playstation 3 thread why not. Even tho information is limited meh.

Facts:

Processor
-The PS3 will use cell technology type processor. What is not known for fact is what type of cell technology or how many.
-The 4 GHz architecture (not know if this is final architecture for fact yet) is comprised of a 64-bit Power processor core, which is surrounded by eight Synergistic Processor Units (which themselves house four Floating Point Units), for a chip capable of delivering 256 gigaflops at 4 GHz
Collada XML support for PS3’s art assets interchange
OpenGL ES support for applications programming interface for 3-D graphics

Graphics Processing Unit
-In December 2004, Nvidia announced that they have been in a multi-year agreement with SCEI to develop the PlayStation 3's GPU
--It will support DirectX 9, Shader Models 3

RAM
-Reuters news service reports that Elpida will be supplying the RAM used in the Playstation 3, and the company confirms spectulation that the Playstation 3 will utilize the 512 megabit version
-(64 Megabyte per RAM chip) of XDR DRAM, with Rambus' interface technology. Up to four can be used per Cell chip, for a maximum RAM figure of 256 Megabytes per Cell Chip.

Removable Media Optical Drive(As of Now)
-PS3 will make use of Blu-Ray drive

That's exactly right. Blu-Ray and HD DVD are merging into one format.

I wonder if the next chapter will put a close to the MGS series. Meh never cared for Kill Zone, im more interested in what RPGs are coming for the PS3.

If its abundant in good RPG's then ill consider buying one, have they released anything on pricing info?

Power isn't going to matter much in this next generation. All three are going to be very powerful. And none of the systems have their final specs up. I mean they could entirely change the specs for the PS3 and 360.

PS3 might change tis cell but PS3 has had an advantage before they were even inc reation since blu ray discs are much better then hd-discs not only in space but the read speed.

Rem if you are talking about HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray it's not going to happen. Those two formats are being put together to form one format.

I heard the new Xbox was gonna be more powerfull...

I probably wont get any of the newer systems (not for a year or 2), it's to much money to keep up with the gaming technology, there's much better games in retro gaming

And that controller you posted Remlee, it looks very annoying.

Are you foolish? Those r for the gen after this gens and MAYBYE! the PS3s. SONY! not mcirosoft or nintendo has teh rights to bluray and sony wouldnt make a deal with them that would help xbox 360. Also sony executives have said there is no plan to. Please read carefully. Even if this i scorrect Xbox will still use hd-dvds meanign that PS3 still has 5x thedisc that xbox360 and most likely nintendo has.

The controller will definately be more confortable. With the longer arms you fingers can be more relaxed and spread out. If there r triggers like i've heard it'd be really hard on a small controller like the old PS and PS2 controllers.

PS2 will either be single celled and more powerful or multicelled and more powerfull. Anyoen who has told the X-Box 360 will be more pwoerful lies. The X-Boxs processor is already complete and is 3ghz(prolly overclocks at like 4-4.2ghz with teh water cooling system). PS3s will atleast be 3Ghz makeing them ATLEAST equal.

OK my son, this is pretty funny. Sony has much more interest than trying to hurt the x-box. AND WHO THE FRICK CARES, no offense but... Your wrong and the article is right. And what is sony doing to do with the 30 gigs on one disc? Put 100 PS one games on one? NOt gonna happen. Most all games can't fill up more than one DVD. All the current releases for pc are basically on one. The reason they are combining is it will be a much cheaper production process. If people were to make Blue-ray discs they would have to haul in new equipment. If they used the HD dvd they could use most of the old stuff making it much more cost effective. Controllers look wierd and breakable. My controllers get stepped on alot. I think they should save themselves some trouble and just copy the x-box controllers.

Here is what I think the problems is

Zylo = A sega and x-box bias (but is fair to a degree)

Vash = A big nintendo bias (but is fair to the right degree)

Remlee = A big blinding Gaystation Bias. lol

Davideo7 = No segragation here, views gaming systems equally (but looks at the facts)

But yeah, The screen shots and ratate view thing for the x box controllers look pretty sweet. Comfy and there are triggers and buttons on the shouldpads of the controller.

I am still waiting for more controlers with VMU's though, they were pretty frieking cool!!!!! lol

Was I the only one that thought the PS3 looked like a fax machine or a printer? They brought along good stuff for it, but it looked funny. I think as far as next gen goes the other two companies are kinda keeping quiet on their games. Nintendo in particular. Microsoft has to be careful what they showed wasn't as much of a jump. I know they are in early development, but they have to be careful not to pull a Dreamcast.

I wouldn't worry about that, it will take a while for the game devolopers to reach the potential the next gen. systems have to offer. The next elderscroll grahpics are about as much of a jump as your going to see in my opionion.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
