Quina serves as comic relief throughout the game, often failing in his/her eternal quest to consume new cuisine. S/he speaks in broken English, as all Qu do and will often eat anything s/he sees.

Shadow, formerly known as Clyde, is a mercenary/assassin/ninja that will work for the right price. Edgar claimed that "he'd slit his momma's throat for a nickel!" or in another translation "he'd kill his best friend for the right price!"(I hope I got the quotes right, don't really remember it off the top of my head XD) He comes and goes usually without warning in the game.
Shadow also has a trusty dog named Interceptor, who randomly counterattacks or shields Shadow when he is harmed in battle.
