Microsoft seems to think that Justin Bieber fans are the perfect audience for Kinect. The furry-headed teen pop star has been promoting the device during the intro to his performances.

In an apparent backstage video that was shown before Bieber began lip-syncing to auto-tuned music, we see Bieber's "crew" using Kinect to play Dance Central, where Kinect reads a player's movements and translates them to an Xbox Live avatar. Bieber, obviously off doing something way cooler than playing videogames, wanders in and observes his "crew" playing the game and gets into it himself.

The Bieb-ster then annoyingly hogs the 360 from the ten other people in the room to play a game of River Rush from Kinect Adventures, and becomes an achievement whore while losing all of the "friends" in his "crew." This is an inside look at what occurs regularly backstage at Bieber concerts.

Mr. Bieb went on to appear in smoke and do a cover of a song laced with the chorus from The Cardigans' "Lovefool." I think we have confirmation that Microsoft is really going for a super casual audience for Kinect, because maybe I'm being ignorant, but most Justin Bieber fans probably don't own a 360 and aren't considered hardcore gamers.

Or, could this be reverse psychology and an attempt to get hardcore gamers into Justin Bieber? It's worked on me: I already bought all of his albums and have them on repeat. Wow, I've heard of this, it's not so much "brainwashing" as to, a perfect marketing plot.
The Biebs is one of the most influential people in the world right now, so it's only sense for him to be payed by Microsoft to be seen playing on Kinect.

Yes, definately a case of product placement, but it cant be helped, if you make something for super casuals you have to resort to methods that will attract them more.
I have no idea who this person you're talking about is, but assuming he is someone "popular" then it's obvious that Microsoft is using him to drive up sales.
Either that or this guy is trying to show others that he is "cool" cause he plays xbox...

DarkHyren : Oh yeah, you're an Aussie. Bieber is one of the most influential teen pop stars ever in America... right up with the Jonas Brothers and whatever old people listened to . (I pretty much hate most pop). And it's definitely market placement, none of Bieber's fans probably even know what a 360 IS. They're all girls from like 10-16 who like crappy pop love songs. She... er, he (to DH: running gag in US among guys is JB is actually a very flat-chested girl, due to his high pitched voice early on and in most recordings) doesn't have any gamer fans. Which means it's bad. The Wii still has hardcore titles, and actually has good advertising... if Bieber *shudders* is advertising Kinect, then it won't have any good games at all .

The Kinect is a fail, and Justin Bieber is an even bigger fail. The whole Kinect thing will be a flop; much like the eye toy, and Bieber can piss off with his crappy music that I already have to listen too 24/7 because I have a little sister.

GoogleMe16 : I completely agree with you. I love my 360 but kinect is gonna flop for sure. Heck just look at the game lineup,(sarcasm) I just can not wait to play Kinect Sports. /sarcasm I wonder how they came up with that name? It is not like they got from anybody else right? (cough cough wii sports cough cough) It really does not help that that guy I mean gal justin bieber is promoting it. Sure enough people will just buy it and call it innovative as they flop around looking stupid without a controller.
