Do you believe in fortune tellers?

Personally, I don't believe in them. Because if they really know the future, they'll use this knowledge in order to protect themselves, win the lottery and help people avoid bad things.
But I'm not totally against them, if they can bring me solid evidences, that they can really predict the future, maybe I'll change my mind.

I don't believe in it fully, i think on the whole people just do it to make money

Fortune Tellers? Like the ones that are out in the streets reading palms and gazing into giant marbles? No.

I do believe in precognition though. The problem with fortune tellers is that they claim they can control it. You can't control that kind of stuff, it just happens.

There is no possible logical way of predicting someone's fortune so i would have to say that i do not believe in the slightest chance of a person predicting someone's fortune.

I partially believe so. I do think they can see the future and tell us what's going to happen, but those who say that they/we can control it are wrong, in my opinion.

I think going to a fortune teller is a fun idea, but I don't really place any faith in stuff like that (including horoscopes, tarot reading, etc...) I'm skeptical, especially since most of them charge money.

This is one of those things where I probably should take a position because I'm religious, but I don't. I never really bought it. It didn't make sense, and I was brought up to believe that people do it by channeling demons. At the same time, though, I'm willing to give it a chance. A friend of mine said that reading tarot cards occasionally gives good advice, and I'm willing to give that kind of thing a shot just to try it, but I really don't know.

I think it's entirely possible that if it does work then the reason why it works is because of channeling angels or demons. I don't think the ONLY way is to channel the evil spirits; one could probably do it with good spirits. To that effect, I have sometimes tried fortune telling techniques to give God a way to speak to me, and I think it's worked sometimes.

I dunno. I'm a fence case. It's an interesting idea, but I can't say for certain whether or not it works. It's alright, but just maybe.

No because I've been told some outrageous stuff that never happened. I take what mediums and fortune tellers say with a grain of salt.

I do not believe in fortune tellers. Id think that if someone truly had that power they would be able to easily prove it and would share there gift with the world. Not try to give you and your friend a 2 for 1 deal. Basically they are just entertainers.

Absolutely not! Their so called "powers" are from Satan. And that's evil!

I hear they use a technique called "cold readings" which essentially means that they suggest something vague, which the person than associates something that is relevent to them in their life. I'm not against fortune telling for the fun of it, I like to read horoscopes and the like, but I don't put too much faith into it. if it helps you think about yourself though, go nuts.

I do not believe in them, because their fortunes are normally cold-read and faked.
I believe in Luck, Fortune, Karma, and all others, but those people are nothing but losers trying to make a quick buck off of our hopes and problems.
I myself can see the future, but only in my dreams, and they are never about anybody else.

I don't really believe in it the way some people do. Though I do think there is some power in it, I only think its satanic power.

I hate fortune tellers. No one is able to know the hour or the day when something will occur. People on the street who do this stuff I think are just in it to make money and make people believe in this whole thing. Same thing with horoscopes, those things seem like they exist just for the sole purpose to entertain,scare,trick, or guide people in to things that probably will not happen. I think it is all superstition, but that is just me. I think luck and karma are also just superstition and merely coincidental occurences as well, but again like I said that is just what I think.

I don't believe in fortune tellers. I believe that only I can change my fate, and I don't believe that fortune tellers can really tell what is happening.

If I go to one, i'll enjoy what they say, but I won't take it seriously

Dang these posts are fun to read. I don't believe in fortune telling, tarot card, all the stuff. The moment someone charges money to "see" the future is a load of crap. There are legit people that can do this stuff purely for knowledge, not profit. Yes, I do realize I contradicted myself.

I think everyone can predict the future. The difference? No one can guarantee that they'll predict it right. It's like being psychic.

In Family Guy, Brian tried to prove that psychic people are frauds by having Peter walk up to random people and guess something general. Something like, "My psychic powers tell me you have a quarter in your purse." He was right. Kudos.

In the Mentalist, they constantly explain that no one is psychic. They observe every little detail about someone and use it to guess things about them.
