This was originally posted on the forums of Stupid Mario Bros. I decided to put my thread here too, hoping it would take off better and get more ideas in multiple communities. Here's the thread so far.

Yet another RPG. This one is based off of LoZ.

YOU CANNOT WIN THIS RPG! DO NOT TRY TO CLAIM VICTORY! I WILL SHIP RE-DEADS TO THE HOMES OF VICTORY CLAIMERS VIA UPS! THE SUN'S SONG DOES NOT STUN THEM!

Also, try not to end the rpg. You can kill gannon, kill vaati, revive gannon, kill link (as long as you revive him), kill zelda (no copying from spirit tracks)... Just don't kill the thread!

This is pretty much collaborative fan-fiction.

I shall begin...

Link placed the Master Sword back in its pedestal, and walked towards the entrance of the temple of time. As he exited the room the sword was in, the room re-sealed itself. Navi, who was rather confused, appeared to Link. "To obtain that sword, you went through 3 dungeons. One of these dungeons was a volcano. Another involved being swallowed. You had to fight off countless powerful evil creatures. Why would you place in back in the pedastal and seal it?! Won't you need that sword?"

"Annoying fairy shut your mouth!" Link still had his original wooden sword and was now swatting at Navi. As he was doing this a stranger in a cloak appeared.
The stranger cleared her throat. "Link?"
Link looked up he had Navi in his hands and as he stared at the stranger he suddenly dropped his sword and NAvi escaped.
"Princess Zelda...whats with the cloak?" he asked slightly embarrassed. NAvi was pulling at Links hat trying to get back at him for trying to strike at her.
Zelda frowned. "Link you just saved all of hyrule...and here I stand completly useless yet again." tears started to form in Zeldas eyes.

"But Zelda... you gave me the Ocarina of Time, and you helped to save the world. You aren't useless..." Link said to her. Zelda smiled a little.

"Well, you're right. I think you should go back, to where you're supposed to be..."

Link scratched his head. "To be honest, Kokiri Forest is kinda boring. I'm gonna find somewhere proper to go." After bidding Zelda goodbye, Link left the Temple of Time to set out on another adventure. Zelda watched him go, and she began to cry properly.

Meanwhile, in the sacred realm (or wherever Gannondorf was imprisoned in)...

Gannondorf floated through empty space, unable to move. All he could really do was hate Link, hate Zelda, hate the Sages, hate the gods, and hate Hyrule.

Suddenly, a very faint glow appeared on Gannondorf's right hand for a brief second. He almost didn't notice it. The King of Darkness felt a small surge of power, and then knew that the Triforce of Power was returning to him!

So far so good. I see quite a few directions that this story could take with what we have right now. Almost all of those directions will make for epicness only surpassed by $20.

Post 5 (hammer-princess):

Link decided that the best place to head out to was just wherever the fancy took him. He thought he would go to Kakariko Village to pay a visit to the Cucco lady, since he had offered to help her look after the Cuccos, and he would be paid 100 rupees for it. He always did his best to keep his promises, and he needed the money so that he could buy a present for his friend Saria, who lived in Kokiri Forest.

When he got there, though, he found the Cucco pen empty and there was no-one around.

"Hello?" Link called. No reply came to him. He looked around, and up the steps leading to where the Cucco lady lived, he saw a trail of spattered blood. Link covered his mouth and had to force himself not to throw up whilst he followed the trail. Just outside the house, he saw a slain Cucco. Its white feathers had been matted with its dark scarlet blood. The smell of death hit Link full in the nostrils, and his stomach heaved. He could hold back no longer and threw up behind a bush.

"Oh no..." he said in a quiet voice. He knew he had to find out what had happened, but he was afraid to. He took off his green hat and held it over his nose and mouth to help mask the smell, and then headed inside the house.

The sight was truly awful. There was blood spattered all over the walls, pooled on the floor, and more Cuccos lay slain. The furniture was covered in deep cuts, and just when Link thought it couldn't get any worse, it did. The body of the Cucco lady lay on the table, her blood staining the wood. Her clothes were drenched in the scarlet fluid, and she was covered in terrible slash wounds. The sight of her made Link want to cry. She was a good woman, had done nothing to anyone, so who wanted to kill her? Link made a silent promise to find and bring her killer to justice. He sent a small prayer to the three golden goddesses then quickly left the house to report to the mayor of Kakariko, to let him know that there was a killer out there.

Non-story comment: Well, you have to remember that there was no blood involved in the actual LoZ series, and I fancied putting some blood in there... because I do love a bit of gore, no wait make that A LOT of gore. xD So considering that Link has never seen blood before... yeah.

The Mayor of Kakariko Village merely shook his head when he heard Link's story.

"Your imagination's really wild, kid. Just go home." he said in a disapproving voice. Link was angered at how the mayor was reacting.

"But I saw what happened!!! She was lying there, and she was slashed... it was awful..." Link was on the verge of tears. Before the mayor could reply, a young man rushed over to them.

"Mayor, I found the Cucco lady lying in a pool of her own blood in her house." he said. The mayor gasped.

"That's what this kid was telling me, but I thought he was just-- oh no..." The Mayor's voice became more urgent. "Everyone! We need to be vigilant! There is a killer on the loose!" A gasp ran through the entire village, then everyone was preparing weapons and defenses should the killer decide to return.

"What will you do with the Cucco lady?" Link asked carefully.

"Well, kid," the Mayor replied, "we'll give her a proper burial. Dampé the gravekeeper can take care of that. Sorry I didn't believe you before."

"Okay, and no worries." Link said.

*** Meanwhile, in the Sacred Realm... ***

Ganondorf let out an angered growl as he felt the power of the Triforce of Power surge through him. The time was now. He would break free of these terrible bonds, and he would finish what he had started. More power pulsed through him, and his mouth drew back into a snarl.

"I am coming for you, Zelda! And you as well, Link! The Triforces of Wisdom and Courage will be mine!" With a ripple of maniacal laughter, Ganondorf began to break through the seal on the door to the world of Hyrule, determined to fulfil his twisted goal.
