As long as you wash the food before you eat it who cares? If you don't watch it, there's worse you can get than germs from a nice lady. If it's in a package, then the food is protected so that doesn't matter either.

I don't think it makes much of a difference if people touch it. Plus people could have picked it up and put it back down before you touched it.
