Tonight (technically tomorrow) at 12:30 am, adult swim will be showing the North American TV premiere of Kekkaishi(it was already online, so it's just the TV premiere). Will you watch it? Do you have any opinion on it yet?
This is basically just an open discussion for your opinions on the show. Just a heads up, I'm going to change the title at some point, because it's not going to be new forever.

Me, I'm not really looking forward to it. I'm gonna watch it, and I'm gonna try to be non-biased toward it in my reaction, but I don't expect to be enthralled by it for a few reasons. First of all, the commercials don't look very good. Second, I don't typically like anime all that much, except for a few. Third (this would be my biased reason), it takes the place of Bleach, so now there are only two episodes instead of three. Just so you know, pretty much the only reason I'm going to watch it at all is because it's between Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach.

However, don't let my thoughts on it sway you in any direction. Just say what you think, and if you feel so inclined, come back and discuss it after you watch.

I thought Adult Swim ended the whole Anime lineup like a year ago? If people want to watch anime they can just go on Crunchyroll or any other site like it. I'm more of a fan of the animated shows on Adult Swim like 12 oz. Mouse or Space Ghost.

Also, who exactly is making this anime?

xfighter1138: I don't actually know who's making it but the Wikipedia says that it was turned from manga to anime by Sunrise, whatever that means. All I know about the show is from Swim commercials/bumps and the wikipedia page.

I'll watch it but I doubt I'll like it. The character designs don't look all to great and as you said the commercials aren't too good either.

OK, now that it's been aired, did anyone like it? To be honest, I was quite surprised. The first half was what I expected (crap) but then it got better. I actually think it may have some potential.

I also think it might have some potential. The first episode didn't suck but it wasn't amazing either. We'll see how good it is when more episodes are aired.

I enjoyed it very much, but it still doesn't touch my top 5. I will always be a big fan of Bleach and Death Note.

Is anyone watching it? I've seen every episode aired on Adult Swim, and I quite enjoy it now. I think it has developed very nicely. There have been a couple moments that have been sort of painful to see (meaning not very good, not like empathetic pain), but it's good overall. It has become something that I look forward to every week.

I watched it and thought powers of the protagonists were very unique and had a lot of creative potential. I think the show is pretty good, not a masterpiece but still fun to watch.

It seemed cliche to me. Not bad, not particularly good, just cliche.

I don't like it. If I want a good action-filled anime I'll watch Dragonball Z or Death Note or Bleach or Full Metal Alchemist thank you very much.

It's actually starting to get really good now that the main character building stuff is over.

I've actually been watching Kekkashi for a couple of weeks. (:
It's pretty fun. I like the floating ghost dogs.
Tokine's dog sounds a little over the rainbow, though. (aka gay)

I watch Kekkaishi and I love it. It may be just me, but something about the show feels right to me. And I think it keeps getting better and better. I'm glad I stuck with it. I've started getting the episodes on my PS3. That's how much I like this anime. I have no idea how long the run is gonna be though.

I´ve read the manga and watched the anime and I´ve really enjoyed both, I don´t quite know what adult swim is but I´m hoping they have the show subbed but not dubbed, anyway I can say without spoiling anything that Kekkaishi has a great storyline and scenes are generally not wasted, there is very little that does not have to do with the storyline in one way or another as you go further, oh and about the dogs... read spoilers below the spoiler tag if you will but if not STAY AWAY! or I will feel bad

Ellert : Adult Swim is what Cartoon Network becomes after 10 pm. And the shows are all dubbed, not subbed. In fact, I have never seen any TV show ever have subtitles. Movies, yes, but never a show.

hypermonkey : Dubbed /cringe, please don´t torture yourself by watching anime shows dubbed, only anime I´ve liked more dubbed than subbed is the anime of Rumiko works and that´s because the main male characters of Ranma 1/2 and InuYasha are voice acted by Kappei Yamaguchi (also the voice actor of Usopp in One Piece) and he has a voice I really dislike
