Wow, I am glad I found this thread. I own every Pokemon game to date and I always "Catch 'em all" for the region. It is so much fun. Anyway, I ONLY use pokeballs. Therefore, I have technically caught every legendary ever with a pokeball. I even do the events so count those too! Well, actually I might not of caught one but all the rest yes. The hardest by far was Mewtwo in my FireRed/LeafGreen version. I still have it on my Platinum game. Legendarys are not that hard to catch really, you just need LOTS of pokeballs, a pokemon with some sort of HAX,( Sleep, Para ,ect.) and some patience.

i love to catch legendaries in pokeballs half the time i will catch a legendarie in a pokeball and yes there is a way to make catching a little easyer when it asks you if you want to use a pokeball press and hold the A once the pokeball has bunced three times press and hold B. alternating between L and R helps to, i think...

haha, i caught a level 70 Ho-Oh on my old silver version, i used up 30 ultra, 30 great, and a couple of weird ones that pokemon ball guy made for me, even a lure ball cause i ran out! haha, but i had 5 pokeballs left, ho-oh only has a miniscule of health left, i had one pokemon left and a few super potions left, i made ho-oh fall asleep and made it so it was low on accurasy, i had very little health left, i used up all the pokeballs except one, i smashed Down B on my gameboy, hoping for something to happen!, then, holy balls! i got it!!!! i was in shock! when i was walking away though i got killed by a ratatta with its hyper fang cause i didnt have an escape rope... haha

I caught Groudon that way once. It was the first turn and he was at full health with no status effects. I threw a nest ball for the hell of it (he was a higher level than me, so it was as effective as a normal pokeball) and it worked.

I know for a fact that I caught Zapdos with a regular Poke ball, as well as at least one of the Regis (probably Regice). I'm pretty sure that most of those pushing buttons techniques do little if anything to effect the outcome. I would just plead with the Poke until I caught 'em(I bribed Regice that I'd always keep it in my party and stuff...sucker ;P).

I have and it was easy too. I managed to catch a LV15 rotom with it on Pokemon Diamond, it is probably the easiest legendary to catch ever.
