M!cH@3l 001 : I have watched both and only find that they travel to other worlds the only similarity because in Stargate, they travel through space mostly using the Stargates, but in Star Trek, they use their spaceships. Stargate, in my opinion, is the better series.

I would have to say that the two really are not that similar to each other at all.
The common factor is of course exploration.
But I Stargate is more to do with coming to terms with advanced technology and protecting Earth.
While Star Trek is more about every day interactions between people in a futuristic setting.
There are of course other differences, like in SG all of this stuff has be kept secret from the general public and is military based.
In ST the events are happening in an everyday enviroment that everyone is used to, and it has a more scientific basis.
So all in all I would say SG is an action series with SciFi elements, while ST is a SciFi series with elements ranging from action to suspense to mystery.
