I was putting this as a suggestion because it seems to me that a lot of people join this site for the games. And now that the chatrooms are up, new people seem to post questions on the chatbox about the games not working etc. .

I think if you put even a post limit of 25 it would work to the boards favor. It would introduce them to the board make them kinda get a sense of whats going on here, i dunno just a suggestion.

and by post limit of 25 i mean they must have 25 posts to be able to access the chatrooms

I think we should implement something like this. Maybe simply make it so that anyone who is at the newbie power level can't use it.

We'll see what other people think but I like this idea.

Except there's one thing I've noticed...

People go in the chatrooms for quick help, they're not willing to take the time to browse the boards. Some don't feel like it, some already have and it didn't help much. So that means people go to talk to real people and get first-hand help, and most of the time they get it.

I don't know if it's a good idea to take that ability away from them. Some may get frustrated at that and just leave to find another emulator site.

Yes but if they dont want to browse the boards they are kind of pointless to have on the site anyways.

And yes they do goto the chat for quick help but most people are theyre for chatting.
Even i had gone there for quick help once, but i found the board to be more helpful really.

Or if anything make a new chat room titled "Newbie Help" thats open to anyone.

But i still think there should be a limit to get in general chat. its like an acheivment and everyone likes to achieve.

This would be great for eliminating all the pedofiles on there. Seen times where people register and then find any female and say wanna have sex? I think its a good idea it should censor out most of the spammy people who go in chat to spam it.

Creating a new chat room won't do much good since everyone hangs out in the main one. If people really want help they should just ask RGR Staff or make a post about it in RGR forum because that is the purpose of them

I like that idea better. You can't really restricted the chat rooms too much. Some people who come here are in no way interested in a message board and prefer to just play the games. I can use myself as an example. I go to the LS2.com forums, which is about cars. I'm always in the "Bar N' Grill" section (the equivalent our General and Crazy forums out together). Not once have I posted in any other section. Why? Simply because I'm not that interested in cars enough to post in them. Not even for a question. If they took away the Bar n Grill forum then I would most likely leave. The same will happen with members here if the ability to chat is taken away. A lot of people do use it for legit convos. Be careful with how we restrict it.

What I think we should have is a way to restrict specific individuals rather than groups of people. Some way to disable their use of the chat rooms if they abuse them. That, and being able to kick people out of the chat if they get unruly. That does depend a lot on the chat system and any updates it offers at some point.

I don't think there should be any restrictions on chat like post count needed or anything.
The only main one should be that banned members can't use chat.
We could also have some ability to ban people from chat only, or kick them from chat.

It doesn't seem like you have noticed the percentage of "gamers" to "posters", we are far outnumbered
We live in an age of laziness it sometimes seems to me, people don't want to post and have to wait for answers, nor do they want to look up information themselves.

On Viz charge for chat, I don't like the idea at all, but I dont think it can be done at this time anyway.

There's another small problem with this. say someone failed the newbie quiz and can't post, then they wouldn't be able to use the chat-bar either. The chat-bar makes it convenient for people in situations like this and makes it easy for people to get "quick help". While PMing RGR Staff and making a thread in the RGR Help Forum are what we want people to do, but it's not really a rule nor should it be. I think there really isn't much of a problem with this besides what JigSaw brought up about Pedophiles. I think the chat-bar and post limit isn't that great of an idea when putting some things in perspective...
