So, I was thinking about how on the index page, there's the box with threads where you've recently posted, and if someone posts in there after you, it'll say "new". However, that doesn't go away until you post there again, and that bugs me. I go back just to see if there are any new replies, and there aren't... so, is it possible to make it so the "new" goes away after you've read the thread? Like if you click on the link, it takes you to the thread, and even if you don't post, when you go back the "new" is gone, thus making it easier to tell when there are actually posts you haven't read. Can this be done?

I don't know if this is so or not, but my guess (note, guess) is that it goes away that way to encourage people to post a reply after a new post has been made, specially in discussion forums. I could be wrong, though. It's only a theory. ^^;;

JigSaw tried implementing the 'mark thread as read' when you read the thread but it was very CPU intensive and just not worth having. Someday I'll look into finding an optimized way of implementing the feature.
