Halo was cool when it came out back in 2001. I think the new call of duty series is better because the combat systems are more realistic and multiplayer is much more consistant.

I was going to say something similar to that, so I'll just agree with your post. Character involvement was one thing CoD was good at, especially with MW2. Halo was great in its time, but CoD upped the bar a bit with the online play. And being the most sold game on the first day says a lot. For now, CoD holds the title. We'll have to see if CoD:Black Ops continues the reign.

Call Of Duty was going to win from the start for me - I don't really have a want in me to play games that are focused on aliens or anything of the sort. I'm a huge history buff, so playing through events that actually occured (before the Modern Warfare series of course) or are more rooted in the real world (Modern Warfare) is a much more rewarding experience for me.

Online multiplayer is another big factor for me, and Halo frankly can kiss my ass when it comes to that. Shields, an inability to run and a bunch of sci-fi gizmos - doesn't really cut it for me.
