Don't you just hate when your favorite restaurant or food joint changes the recipe of your fave food there, and now it's no good? For example, there's this pizza place called Jim's around here that I love, best pizza I've had anywhere, except for in Zion Canyon, Utah. There pizza used to have the best topping, best sauce, best dough, best crust. Recently, they just changed what they do with the dough and now it tastes all messed up, like it's watered down and bland or something. Everything else tastes the same, so it's like eating your old favorite, but with this overpowering wateriness that completely ruins the once satisfying salty crunch.

Anyone else have any stories about a great food joint that ruined a great thing? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Please!

Lol, sounds like my mom changing her recipes all the time. It drives me crazy XD. I would like it a lot, then she'd change it because she says she wants to "try something different". Gahhhh the horror of it all.

I hate when people do that to good recipes! For example, I liked the old Domino's pizza better than the new recipe. I think that the people who said that the sauce tasted like ketchup have never tasted ketchup before, and the bread was definitely not rubbery.

The old Dominos wasn't bad but I do like the new version better. That blows with your local place though. Usually I don't get that so much as the places discontinuing the stuff I like.

Yeah, I hate that too! It usually happens to different kind of cheese or bread sticks, I've noticed, and those are usually my favorite. This local coffee house I used to go to bought these kind of chips from some ma and pa kind of place, and the chips were amazing. They stopped buying them though, and that really bummed me out. They also had this awesome ham and cheese croissant, but they discontinued those too. I couldn't take any more heartbreak, so I just stopped going to that coffee house. lol

I have to completely disagree with you man. Dominoes pizza before the change was awesome, it was better then any other major pizza delivery chain.
Then after the change I was like "oh they screwed it up now" and then I tryed it and it was actually better then before.
The crust has an actual flavor to it now instead of just tasting like good crust.
The cheese started to taste just like a higher quality of cheese lol.
With the sauce I never really noticed that big of a change.

You realize that people have different taste buds? There's no way to "prove" which pizza is better, considering it all comes down to your personal taste. Sillies.

For me, it's definitely Frosted Flakes. They tried to make them healthier, or something, and they ruined it. They used to be covered in a white layer of icing sugar, and they were so damn good. Then they changed it so that they are the same color as regular Corn Flakes, just a little sweetened. They're not even FROSTED anymore. They might as well put on the box "Save yourself the money and buy the corn flakes and put a spoon full of sugar on them because these taste just as crappy." I'll find Tony the tiger and kick his face in.
