MegaMan was originally called RockMan in Japan. Of course we all know that, but there is a pun involved with the name "Rock."

Two students from MIT learned how to create boards that if attached on top of an original game board in an arcade game, can modify the game. Since it didn't modify the actual code, it was not illegal.

Midway, was getting desperate because they had no sequel for PacMan, thus the game was losing money. They discovered these two MIT students and hired them. These two students made a mod board for PacMan called "Crazy Otto." Midway, told them to modify it to stay in the PacMan world, so they changed it to what became known as "Ms. PacMan."

This game was also indeed a much better game than PacMan, having different mazes, cutscenes, and ghosts that actually move trying to catch you, not just in a pattern. If you see an original Ms. PacMan machine though, it is basically a PacMan machine with a mod-board attached on top of the original board and with new stickers. =)

Silent Hill 4 was not intended to be part of the Silent Hill Series, but after they finished it they thought it was too much like Silent Hill and therefore changed the name to Silent Hill 4: The Door.
