Hey everyone, if you've seen the trailer for the new Zelda game, you probably remember a peaceful-looking scene at the beginning of it, showing a forest with some cool light rays shining through the trees. (A screenshot of it on Nintendo.com also shows Link riding through that forest on horseback.)

Well, I was browsing through this photo page on my way down to the Chrysler Building pics at the bottom, and I saw this:


The similarity is just SO striking that it really makes me wonder if Nintendo was inspired by this same picture. Weird, huh?

EDIT: Now that I've added the screenshot on the right, the resemblance isn't quite as strong as what I'd imagined, but still... I have a feeling it won't be too many more years before we DO see games looking like the shot on the left! It at least shows us we've got a little distance further still to go.

Maybe. But who knows for sure. They could of seen things like this in real life.

Not sure. Nintendo says they are going to have a full version at E3 so hopefully not long after that.

My money is on September to October of 2005.

That movie clip was BEYOND awesome... I'm speechless. Link getting chased by Gohma, the hall full of ReDead ghosts, Link riding a wild boar, sparring with a Goron, and the way the enemies explode...and speaking of explosions, the fire arrows looked sweet too! And was that Hyrule Castle in the background of the Fire Arrows shot? AND the way Link twirls his sword when he puts it away... I thought that was just for show on the first trailer, but it's nice that you can actually do that.

What about the swimming? The water effects are awesome as well. I say this game comes out sometime in July or August.

Jake did you almost have a seizure when you watched the movie? People are going to go nuts over this game.

i like the idea of riding a horse and fighting like occarina of time or howevver you spell it but this time it looks cooler.

Yeah this time you fight on horseback. You can swing your sword and all that. In OoT all you could do was shoot arrows.

ahhhhhhh sweet well i hope it helps Nintendo's image and makes it gain more popularity cause i think if nintendo does not come out with games that look like that that they will fail.

People will be buying this one. It is the most anticipated game this year. When X-Play showed the E3 video they had a little screen before it that said, "And now our happiest moment..." The gaming media really seem to be hyping this one. I imagine there will be some type of campiagn.

Also, look at all the new gameplay elements. It looks like there will be free swimming (like you can swim around underwater as well as a above), enemy shields shattering, and an enemy attacked Link but he dodged and that enemies attack hit another enemy.

That game makes me want to buy a Gamecube!

But with the Xbox 2 and most likely PS3 being shown at E3, does anyone think that the New Zelda's graphics will still be impressive after we see what the Next-Gen has to offer?

I think they will. Graphics aren't going to get all that much better in my opinion. They are going to get a bit better, but we aren't going to see anything like the SNES to the PSX/N64 or the PSX/N64 to the Gamecube/Xbox/PS2. Technology is so good that soon graphics will not improve.

Yes... good point Michael, but isn't that what everyone said after Nightrap came out on the sega CD? The first generation of PS2 games looked like crap!!! The dreamcast games were way better. Now they have them looking decent after programming for it for 3+ years. I think graphics will continually be astoundingly astonishing. Your right in that games themselves will sell better than the graphics. But graphics will always have its place in the system wars. I mean what about loading times!!!! I think there is alot of things and pontential they can still do with videogames. Tree's blowing in the wind, water cresting and whitcaps burting, A windswept field filled with beautiful wildflowers.
