That's right. I have decided to run another VCS.

I decided to do it since I became a global. I figure now I can run it and regulate it all on my own and toss out bans and such if need be.

However, this time around I don't want to see people go insane with posting. The point of this isn't to try and outpost everyone else every single day. Post the way you feel like posting and just have fun. I don't want to see certain people posting 100 times just to win this....

And I also don't want to see people spamming this thread talking about how much they're going to post either. This thread is the results thread for each day. I'll post them when they're ready (and if I'm still awake).... and we can talk about how we're doing. But I don't want this going overboard like last time and I promise you I will hand out bans left and right to anyone I think is spamming in order to get a high post count just to win. I want QUALITY posts from people this time.

I really really hope it won't get ruined this time again.

depends on how bad it gets. With the off-topic thread gone I don't know how bad it could get.... but you never know.

I'll hand out a few bans to the worst offenders and if things stay bad then I'll just end it again and probably never do one again.

What's a VCS? I've seen that term around here before and know it's some kind of competition, and judging by what you said, is it a competition
to see who can make the most quality posts in a month? If that's the case, what's the reward?

It was a kind of competition where you must have the highest points overall to win ( by posting lots, without spamming ofcourse ) , but due to people going crazy for this, it isnt a competition anymore.

Yep, it is only there for the sake of having it, so it will not have a reward...

Yeah, up to the point where you wont want to post around anymore coz its full of people back and fort posting and spamming. And having threads with lots of pages but only have 3 or 2 persons talking with each other.

yeah... I plan to come down hard on anyone that spams a lot during this month.... that is if I think they are doing it in order to win the VCS. Regular spamming is okay

I'm probably not even going to bother with it at all this time. Regular posting is good enough for me, and if enough people get banned I might place in it anyway.

well, the point is that you just post like regular basically.... and see how well you do. It's not really about beating everyone else.... just post like you do and see if you get points at the end of the day.

I am on enough, that I don't even have to try to get into the top five, so I will not keep it as a priority and pretty much I will be posting regularly, as if this was not even happening...

EXACTLY! That is the attitude that everyone should have.

Now, that doesn't mean you can't check and see how you are doing for the day and maybe make a few extra posts here and there to try and win a day.... because this still does exist.

And it doesn't mean you can't make 100 posts in a day if they are quality posts for the most part.... but this is just for fun so let's all try to keep it that way.

Day 1 done.... and I've got 10 points so far . Shocking right?

It won't be like this every day though. I kinda went post crazy after I got promoted to Global and I just sort of went on a spree for a while there. I was all over the place too . It was fun.

I thought today was MUCH better than last months start too. I was the only one with an unusually high post count and that was only cause I was excited about my promotion. We'll see how tomorrow goes compared to today. Glad it went smoothly though. More focus was on the new layout than on the VCS which is a big reason why I figured today would be a perfect day to start a new VCS. No one would be focusing on it.

What is the number in parenthesis besides our names? Ex. the "(3)" beside mine.

Hopefully this stays up. If anyone ruins in this time there's going to be Viz to pay

Excited to see this going though, didn't notice it until now and I was going to suggest it yesterday.

I'm not surprised I didn't place, I was hardly home yesterday anyways. I don't really care, though... I post enough regularly that I'll place however I place, no point in ruining my post quality for this.

the number beside your name in parenthesis is what place you were the previous day... it really shouldn't be up there for those results because the day before didn't matter.... but that's all it is.

David: yeah... I kind of wanted it to be a surprise so no one went insane over it.

bignate: well, it's possible to post a lot and not ruin post quality.... you just have to put some effort into it. But don't feel obligated to.... this is just for fun.

Once the Plugin V1 is ready for launch, I'm going to send out another newsletter so expect to see a pretty big increase in traffic this month

I can't wait for it to work properly for more people... it's tough seeing all the questions about "why won't the plugin work".... we got about 1 a day at least it seemed.

Glad you got lots of points yesterday David. You might have a chance this month to get top 5. We'll see though. It's hard to know how things will go based only on the first day.
