The CARS franchise debuted 20 years ago and it has brought us a lot of joy, memories... and also questions, which is this case.

In my opinion it should be car insurance. I mean, he's obviously a car, and he dedicates his life to being a race car. Contrary to other characters in the franchise which have other professions, like Mack (transporter), Sterling (wealthy businessman), Darrel (sports commentator) or even the moonlighters Doc and Sally. Then, just like in the real world, different insurances could exist depending on the taker's profession, and in McQueen's case his profession is actually being a car.

However, the debate spans over the fact he's... well, alive. And since some characters can take up jobs like being attorneys or judges, it's clear that there may be at least one insurance salesperson, or insurance salescar or whatever it could be spelled as, in this universe. This would also imply there's a broader range of products in this business (even though a single product can withstand an empire in the CARS universe, I don't think an enterprise would survive in something so vague because most characters rarely do anything dangerous to be hurt in any way), thus opening up the chance there exists a life insurance for personal takers regardless of profession or whatever.

Maybe the correct answer is that he could have both then? But isn't there one who should be mandatory over the other one which can be optional? And if I came here to let this question off my head, why am I creating even more questions to be answered?

I asked myself the same question when watching Once Upon a Time, except with Fairy Tales and the Library. Like are they in the children's section? the 398 section (I work in a school library of course I have the sections memorized) or the Biography section? and more importantly were they ever banned books? well then again to be fair in the first season it was closed off

If the world is full of cars then why would there be car insurance? Car insurance is for a possession that humans have. Cars are built and aren't alive or self aware in our world. Therefore we have a separate kind of insurance for them.

They might call it car insurance but it wouldn't be treated like car insurance. It would be treated like life insurance in my opinion.
