There's a free version of Minecraft that can be ran in the browser. It's Minecraft version 1.8.8, which means it's outdated by quite a few years, but that version is still a really good version.

The reason I bring this up is to see how much interest there would be in hosting it on Vizzed. Imagine having Minecraft hosted on the site, playable on the site, where anyone could play it using their Vizzed account, absolutely for free.

I should point out that It's fully customizable. I'd be able to do a lot with it. It also comes with built in shaders. The built in touch controls suck so I'd have to redo that, and I don't think it supports a controller but that could also be added. Since it doesn't require a Microsoft account, someone could change their skin right here on the site very quickly.

In all honesty, 1.8.8 is a great version of Minecraft. A lot of the updates made to Minecraft over the past few years haven't been that great. Also, there might actually be a plugin out there that allows people with the 1.8.8 version of Minecraft to join a modern world which could be built into this.

Would anyone be interested in me adding something like this to Vizzed if it allowed more users to play Minecraft together? I wouldn't get rid of the current Minecraft severs but I just see a lot of potential with this, especially it being free and playable right on the size.

I've said before and I still stand by I would be in favor of closing the Minecraft server if it could save you money since it's pretty rare that people are online on it, that said I think this could be a great way to still have Minecraft if you ever do decide to close the server with it being a free option I think more people would at least have the option to play. Currently I would say it kinda depends how much work this would be for you to set up if I think it'd be worth it or not with the server still being a thing, but if it wouldn't take too much work on your part I think it'd be awesome!

Side note I find it really funny that after me and Dauntez were arguing back and forth about 1.8 and it's combat you post this lol.

Also, some of the worlds could potentially be converted to 1.8.8 and imported into this. As for the plugins, not sure how well that'd work out, would probably have to lose some of them.

I'm not too concerned about the costs of the current Minecraft server being up now that it's part of the main (and only) Vizzed server. I think the decision would really come down to if it would encourage more people to play (specifically, the users who don't have Minecraft accounts).

Knowing costs aren't really an issue I would say it'd be cool but I would probably wait to see if people respond saying they would play on a free version then, I would find it fun to hop on a 1.8 version to play again but I don't know if everyone would.

I will definitely play it, and it should run on my laptop just fine... but so close to 1.9...
