So, I just got back from a job interview today. I'm an accountant for those that don't know.

The position is with a oil and gas / biodiesel company (it's two companies being run by the same group sort of thing). They're looking to grow and need accounting help which is where I come in.

The interview went well. I seemed to fit his qualifications and we seemed to really get along well and I felt really comfortable talking to him and what not.

Interesting story about this whole thing though. The job posting I came across requested the resume and cover letter to be sent in .pdf format. That is REALLY uncommon. So, I sent him my .doc resume and cover letter because I missed this detail. So 2 days go by and I look at the same job posting again and realize my mistake. At this point I felt like I had messed up any chance I had of getting the job because I had totally missed this detail. So I decided to do up my resume and cover letter into .pdf's and sent them off again to this guy. I got a call the next day and we set up an interview for Monday morning (today). He said to me that he liked the fact that even though I made a mistake I was man enough to admit to it honestly and correct the mistake and not try and hide it instead.

As far as I know I'm one of about 6-8 people who are getting interviewed for this position and I'll hear back by the end of the week if I'm coming back for a second interview. The job sounds perfect for me though. I'm pretty excited!

Good luck! Never seemed like a person that would be an accountant but I guess video games have no boundaries and take hold of anyone. I'm been doing some job searching myself for the summer while I'm out for college. Hope to find something new because I need to get a car since mine died towards the beginning of my first semester. I just had an interview a couple days ago. It was HORRID!!! I applied to Chipotle restaurants thinking it would be an easy score... I called back two days later asking if I was accepted. "All positions filled" It was TRAGIC. Haha

yes, that would mean I would not be around as much. I'd be working 8-4:30 ish and so I would only be here in the afternoon and evening. I would be around more on the weekend of course.... but yeah it would mean less time on Vizzed.

But, it would mean good things for me personally and that's what matters most. I wouldn't stop visitng Vizzed. I would just have to visit less often =/. Although after my huge amount of posting the last little while I haven't wanted to post as much anyway so it might work out in the end

Good luck geeo! I've actually looked into being an accountant, it's one of the few lines of work I actually considered. It can be a lot of work at times, I'm impressed that that's what you do!

I'm still waiting to hear back from this guy. He had interviews going on Tuesday and possibly Wednesday so I doubt I'll hear from him today.

He said by the end of the week he would have the group narrowed down and some of us would come back in for another interview.

Has he contacted you about whether you are to have another interview? Are you pretty confident that you will get the job?

nope, I haven't heard back from him yet.

I'm trying to not think about it too much. Don't want to get too stressed about it.

I finally got a call back from the guy I interviewed with and I didn't get the job.

I'm pretty crushed by this.... I was really hoping that this was finally my big break but it turns out I've still got some job searching to do =/.
