I am going to go with Paldea. Honestly the the game has made a big influence on my decision for this. It is just way too empty and although it is open world I don't feel like I am really exploring for secrets or anything.

2nd place would be Kalos just straight up too many plotlines cut that we never got to see. Hopefully Z-A will fill that gap.

I think I have to go with Galar. There was too much emphasis on the Wild Area (is that what is was called?) and not enough emphasis on the rest of the region. (Granted, I didn't play the DLC, so I'm not sure if that made it better.)

I'll go with both Galar and Paldea. To echo what's already been said, the Wild Area felt flat, dull, and unfinished. I understand that were clearly experimenting with their first major open-zone area, it felt like they needed more time to flesh the Wild Area out more. Sometimes it didn't even feel like the Pokémon had their own ecosystem when Machokes can just randomly pop in and out next to a Roselia for no reason. Some of the Pokémon just felt randomly scattered.

Even though I haven't experienced the Paldea region, I've watched enough video essays on Gen 9 that touch on how lazy, empty, and lifeless a lot of the cities in Paldea are.

Yeah it's Paldea. I think Kalos and Galar are close contenders but despite the fun I had playing through Paldea with friends, the region itself contributed about 0 to that. Only the final area with the paradox forms was remotely cool. Oh and that one jungle section.
