But I think I've heard of this one before, and you're right, it's just a pyramid scam.

Looks suspect to me. Also terms and conditions part 8 is troubling:
"We are not responsible for prize items that are lost or stolen during item delivery"
In other words there is no promise they will send anyone anything as they can just claim it was lost or stolen.
Even if someone complained there are enough fake user accounts out there owned by the company to say "look, I got stuff" to throw off people.
Unfortunatly it's hard to judge these types of things, mainly because there is such a high number of scam sites out there.

Yeah, I felt that too, with all of the scams going on it's really hard to trust anything, but I'm the kinda sucker that would do anything if it said free, so I looked at the testimonials and I thought that it wasn't bad, so I gave it a try, 4 weeks later, I ordered NHL Breakaway 98 for the N64 and got it about 1 or 2 weeks later. It IS EXTREMELY HARD to trust anything promising free stuff until you see proof or you do what I did and went with my gut.

My question is what did you do to recieve the "prize"? Did you buy anthing to recieve the "prize"?

DarkHyren Q1 Again: Yes, that is suspicious, but the site is purely based on Amazon, and sometimes on Amazon, people just take your money, so you need to try to trust the feedback of others on whatever you want.


JusTReal Q1: I went to the site and signed up under an account I just made for the site because I was scared of too much spam. Then I did some surveys and signed up for a few other sites. You CAN spend money/buy stuff to get ahead quicker, but I didn't. It's hard to do anything if you are in Canada(where I live), England, and Australia. It's a more US site if you want anything New. So the basis of what I said was, I didn't buy anything , you can buy stuff like cell phone offers, and it's harder for people not in the US.

JusTReal Q2: It is kind of spammy, but this is the only way I can advertise on the internet. That's why it's called Web Splurge, for splurging out anything on the internet, which means adverts.

Well yeah you right now that you say it falls under web splurge, lol. I might check it out, I usually don't do these but I looked over it and I see how it works just wondering how reliable it all is like for instance if I get 300 points and want the PS3, if I'll actaully recieve it or if it's a scam.

Yeah, Iit just depends on how hard you want to work for it, 300 points are hard to get

I just got another game, Half Life 2 for Xbox.

I'm having a little bit of doubt, usually "free" stuff on the internet. Isn't free in fact.

You don't really NEED to spend money, you just sign up for a lot of websites and do surveys, I made a Email account just for that so I won't get too spammed (Which I did). It also depends on you live, you'd have to live in the US to get the most points, I live in Canada, which explains why I only got 2 games off of it. You also get 10 percent of what people that you referred made. That's the explanation I made this thread.

Hmmmm, I don't know, I can't trust this. Besides, my parents would go into an uncontrollable rage if I showed them this advertisement.

I've seen websites like this. I really would not trust this one. I think I will just stick with my wii usb backup loader...

My mom wasn't mad at all when stuff came through the mailbox from the US, she was happy, and she's a little stricter than you think.

It's probally because there are alot of scams out there on the net, ranging from those that are as simple as getting themselves losts of page hits to ones that are really bad and use your bank details for shady dealings.
Then there's the fact that alot of these sites ask for alot of personal info.

A quote from a random internet guy about Prizerebel

It's things like that that put us off and also because we all think that the things listed on the "testimonials" page are faked by the company.

DarkHyren : Maybe I freaked out, yeah there are a TON of spams out there, and SOME do ask for bank details, but I never used them as I wanted to go the cheap way. It asks for a LOT of personal info sometimes, and the worst part is that most offers lead to the same, long servey. I made a Gmail account because I heard of all of the spam mail. I'm not sure about the testimonials, because there is a lot of valuable items there, which can only mean that the guy that made that testimonial works for the company. The reason I made this thread was to eliminate the spam and refer. As I said " It IS EXTREMELY HARD to trust anything promising free stuff until you get proof."
