Honestly, Sega has really surprised me these past few years. Aside from Sonic Origins (Which while it was worked on by Christian Whitehead's team, Sega really rushed them to get out the product.) Frontiers was generally a surprise. I'm such a huge fan of how they wrote the characters, The gameplay was also generally fun as well aside from the not so great controls within Special Stages.

Now that Superstars in announced, if it's actually as good as I hope which GOD I hope it is, I think we have a really bright future ahead for the series. I generally loved Sonic Mania and this is looking to be a successor to that so I'm more then stoked. It seems Sega is wanting to move forward for a new direction with the franchise that allows for both Classic and Modern (Or whatever Coined Name of Sonic he is now) to kinda just co-exist and I'm all here for it.

It looked decent, I was like “oh cool a 2D sonic game. It’s already good” until it said “new power ups” and them being pixelated jellyfish. That right there gave me a sense of doubt on how the game would fare… I’m more of a retro sonic fan with basic power ups so I have to see what the power ups improve the series…

Though shall we talk about Final Fantasy VII rebirth trailer or Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay? Those were the huge hitters from the SummerFest event.

This does look pretty fresh. As much as I liked SA2B, it's never coming back. I'm never getting my precious Chao Garden again. So we may as well return to this style, it always produces better games than the 3D one, though I've heard 4 was not a good experience.

I'll always find the 3D Sonic's much more enjoyable than the classics but this new one looks super fun! That said I probably won't play it (at least not right away) unless I find someone to play through it with as I get the feeling from the trailer it'd be best enjoyed with a friend or 3.

becerra95: Honestly I've never been a MK Fan to begin with, although yeah the New FF seems pretty cool, even if I have yet to play the first FF7 Remake yet. I'm still waiting for KH4 info to get released but looks like I'll have to wait another 10 years lol

Yeah it's pretty exciting to get a new Sonic Mania-esque title. We'll have to see how it plays since I'm not sure though I'm pretty sure that Sega's team got pointers by Christian Whitehead's team and all. I do love the Sonic Adventure formula no doubt and still think it's the best way Sonic's ever played but still really enjoyed how it felt in Frontiers and hope that them expanding on that style helps to boaster in a new era for the games.

SonicOlmstead: I do wonder myself if the game will be fun to play single player as much as it is Multiplayer since I personally don't tend to play a lot of my games that way unless it's a heavily focused aspect part of the game. That part at least to me is a bit worrying.

Though I do think the fact they shown the game off without it and then kinda slide the multiplayer aspect halfway in through the trailer at least makes me think it's a Single Player experience first before anything with hopefully fun Multiplayer for those interested in it.

I agree about Frontiers being a really good game. It’s been a long time since I had any kind of hope that they could turn things around but now I’m actually feeling confident that whatever Sonic Frontiers sequel ends up being, it’ll at the very least end up being a good one.
