As for Minecraft, I do appreciate its creativity and the ability to build and explore. Although it's a more modern game, it doesn't have the same level of violence as many others, so I can enjoy it in moderation. However, my heart still belongs to the retro classics.

Welcome to the site!

I can totally feel you about modern games. Everything has become magnified nowadays: depth, customization, modes of playing, details, and of course violence. Back in time you could do very few things in shooter games, and look at what you can do now (or more precisely, the very few things you CAN'T do).

Retro games are definitely something special, and if we have a resurgence of retro consoles and games as well as remasters and series coming back from the dead, it's because of their magic. We can't really tell what it is, but it's there and we all feel it.

Welcome to the site. It’s a small community but we make it work well. Right now activity isn’t much until July when Tour de Vizzed comes around. Tho you can search around and see how friendly the community is.

For retro gaming, I would say it holds a soft spot for me due to the games being more simple and fun. I mean granted, I do enjoy fighting games from Capcom, SNK, and such but I do agree how drastic violence have become more prominent in recent titles (in general). Though I do still enjoy a bit of classic arcade games like OutRun or Galaga.

Help or questions from the site, can ask admins to help out since they’re almost always active or a mod. Enjoy your stay on the forums and games

I can understand your view on modern games. I dont mind the violence personally. For me modern games have lost their charm compared to retro games. I stick to playing more indie games, while still enjoying some modern franchises.

Heyo welcome to the site! When I was younger I enjoyed trying retro games a lot but in the past 2 or 3 years I've found it harder and harder to play games from before my time as I'm used to features a lot of retro games don't have like being able to save the game or just quality of life stuff that's naturally happened over the years my favorite retro game is Super Mario 64 I think though I guess I should ask what do you consider retro? Cause I know depending on who you ask the PS3 could be called retro now and that just makes me feel old.

I totally understand what you mean about getting used to certain features in modern games, and then finding it hard to go back to retro games that don't have those quality of life improvements. Super Mario 64 is a fantastic retro game, by the way! As for what I consider retro, I think anything before the PlayStation 2 and GameCube era would be retro for me. It's definitely interesting to see how some people consider the PS3 as retro now, but I guess it's all about perspective. Time really flies!

Ariella Divine : Your welcome! Super Mario 64 is the only game I've ever 100%ed and then instantly made a new save and started over the game's movement and level design just really works for me! I'd say that's also what I consider retro since the PS2 was my first console back when I was 3 I can understand why people consider them retro now but it's gotta be before my time for me to consider it retro lol. I'm not the biggest FF7 fan as I watched my mom play it way too much when I was a kid but more recently I enjoyed FF7R but I was gonna say that Aerith hair could not of been easy to get right but you looked a lot like her!

I mean, you're short (5'2" vs my towering 5'11"), you've got those lovely glasses (which, let's be honest, suit you perfectly), your skin is so pale it could give a vampire a run for their money, and you're shy... So how did you find the website if you don’t mind me asking? Like a google search for Final Fantasy VII (since you’re into the game it seems) or a friend? Just curious don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.

becerra95 : Hey becerra95! I don't mind sharing how I found Vizzed at all. So, it all started when I stumbled upon a thread about "how to revive Aerith" here on Vizzed (yes, I'm quite the Final Fantasy VII fan). That piqued my interest, and I started snooping around the site. I soon realized that I had a lot in common with the community, and I was absolutely amazed by the vast collection of playable retro games – it was like a dream come true!

What really sealed the deal for me was discovering that the owner of the site is also a huge Final Fantasy VII fan and even has Cloud Strife as his profile picture. It felt like I had found a place where I truly belonged, so I couldn't resist joining this wonderful community. And here I am!
