ive allways wondered why they throw the pokeball to let the pokemon out

ive been watching the first season online and seeing ash throw the ball with all his might got me thinkin is there realy any need to throw the damn thing?couldnt you just push the button and let the pokemon out doesnt the ball come right back to you when you throw it so to me theres realy no need to throw it lol.whats everyone else think?

Those are my thoughts exactly. why would you throw it when you can jsut push the button? I blame those japs that made it.

yeah caterpie isnt a pokemon to get that exited over lol but it was his first pokemon ever cought so i kinda understand why he would get so exited but like you said "its a caterpie for pete's sake" lol

Thats a good question. From what I can tell they throw the pokeball because it creates a huge light and explosion kinda. If ash opened a pokemon in his hands it would be like lighting a fire cracker and holding on to it Probably why he throws it to let them out.
