Tom G., the original developer of the RGR Plugin, recently contacted me with renewed interest to continue working on the RGR Plugin, so I've hired him to help make the RGR Plugin usable without all of the extra steps that are necessary now days.

So we're developing an "RGR Plugin 2022+ Update" installer that gets installed after you've installed the RGR Plugin. So the RGR Plugin itself isn't getting a new installer, but this one would work alongside of it. And it basically just launches (automatically) the game in an older version of Firefox. It's not a perfect solution, but it's the best solution we could come up with for the budget. And honestly, it's not really that big of a deal that the game window would open up in a different internet browser, it shouldn't negatively affect anything.

We've been working on this for the past few weeks now, and if all goes well, this new update could go live within a week or 2

MarioTron3000 : I don't think it would be possible since the plugin still utilizes flash. If I remember correctly google also did something to the old versions of chrome so Flash doesn't work. This is the main reason firefox is being used since Flash still runs on old versions of it.

MarioTron3000 : The plugin would have to be recreated in order to support Chromebook. And since that would require a massive budget that I don't have, it unfortunately wont be happening. Sorry. I hope the HTML5 emulators are at least good.

The reason we're doing Firefox instead of Chrome is pretty much what Pokemon X said.

This is so nice to hear!

I will definitely try to set aside some time whenever I'm on my computer and test out the renewed glory of the RGR. The plugin might have some limitations, but the updates to Retroarch definitely make up for it and overall the experience could be equal or maybe better than pre-covid times.
