How do you say or write certain anime titles?

Many anime have their original title and then a different English one. I used to avoid their original titles like the plague until earlier this year. For instance I always used to say and write Jobless Reincarnation until I started hearing people say Mushoku Tensei and I realized it just sounds and looks better.

For me it's a mixed bag because there's still only a handful of titles that I'll say in their original form while there's still a ton that I'll only say in English. It's kind of a situational thing.

Like, I doubt I'll ever call Demon Slayer or Seven Deadly Sins by anything other than their English names because their longer and look harder to say. But then you have anime like "Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon" and "Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren't They?" which are simply DanMachi and Mondaiji.

Some have short English names but sound cooler, make more sense, or are even easier to say in its original form.

Right now the ones that I gave up on the English names are Mushoku Tensei, DanMachi, Mondaiji, Tensura, and Mirai Nikki.

What are your thoughts?

I personally prefer calling anime by their English names. For one, I don't want to butcher the Japanese pronunciation and get someone mad at me for it, and two, the English names, at least to me, are more recognizable for the English audience. I feel like just reading the few examples you listed, I feel like I couldn't remember them.

I'm a mixed bag when it comes to anime titles much like zander so for example I always call My Hero Academia Boku no Hero just because it's the name I learned first and it stuck like that in my head. Of course, it's not always like this so for an example of the opposite I always call Hataraku Maou-sama! The Devil is a Part-Timer! cause it's just easier to remember for me so it just really depends on how much of a weeb I feel like being when I learn an anime's name.

I'm going to say the same thing I said when they finally gave the final season of Sailor Moon an English Dub "I was grew up with the DIC names, I shall refer to them by their DIC names" even though I actually did find out recently that not every episode did get dubbed, so it's not wonder I felt that Sailor Venus got shafted badly (hell, I think there were some episodes of Cardcaptors....yeah again saw the English dub first I shall refer to them by English titles, at least Sakura got to keep her given name, anyway I feel that some episodes probably didn't get dubbed either, I mean what? Bubble card? Libra? Through when did those get captured? even I got to see the Float card episode eventually I don't think Teletoon ever aired it)

but then again I'm not the avid anime viewer I used to be I haven't revisted Sailor Moon in years, I didn't even get to see the Cardcaptor Sakura reboot but neither Wildbrain or Nelvana got to dub it, you might as well ask me which English dub of Totoro do I prefer the FOX version or the Disney version, personally I prefer the FOX version because I saw that one first

I mean most anime I seen were the same titles like “Dragon ball z” or “Naruto” or “One Piece”. That or the fact I never seen the Japanese versions but I’ve been stuck on the English either way so I’ll be surprised whenever I see a Japanese title. Overall my preference is English titles

I think which one I use for a show when it comes to talking about it or looking it up is about as reliable as flipping a coin but there's plenty of cases when I only know either the English or Japanese name of an anime so I tend to just stick with whichever I'm aware of.
