Ok so i have seen plenty of talk about certain pokemon games being better than others and i decided to put it to a vote. i know there's already best pokemon game poll but this is to see what you guys think the worst is. only the main series applies here.

Red and Blue. So many glitches in those games.

And if you say "Old games always have glitches", that doesn't change the fact that Focus energy is LITERALLY A HINDRANCE to your pokemon (it gets rid of the ability to crit at worst, and does nothing at best.), a "It's super effective" and "It's not very effective..." appear when hitting things like Gyara neutrally. Doesn't change the fact that the critical hit rate was horrifyingly broken. Doesn't change the fact that you couldn't thaw out of freeze unless your opponent was stupid enough to use a Fire attack on you.

Although if I had realised it was on the poll, I'd say Yellow.

R/S. Emerald was good, but R/S, while still not bad games, were worse. They added double-battling, and natures, and EVs, and all, but... I don't know, they didn't feel as revolutionary. With G/S/C, there were new features just out of nowhere, nothing really hinted at (except friendship with Pikachu's thing in Yellow) that much in R/B. But in R/S, all the new improvements were set-up and almost foreshadowed (to use a literary term) in G/S/C. EV's came from the shiny stats thing in G/S/C. In G/S/C there were twins (I'm pretty sure, I think I ran into one) that hinted we would eventually be battling two-on-two, hey, even that was hinted in Yellow, with Jesse and James' appearance. Anyways, there's also the thing about how I just don't like Hoenn. Too many water routes . I avoid surfing whenever I can. Ruby and Sapphire. The Pokedex was incomplete! As you may know, when emerald was released Rayquaza was released into the Pokedex. Thus, changing the storyline completely. For example, instead of having Team Magma to be the main villians or have Team Aqua have the main villians, you could just play Emerald. Plus, Ruby and Sapphire aren't games to be very fond with. Therefore, I have proven my point.

I wasn't using Focus energy, it still is only marginally useful, but still: that's like getting rid of Farfetch'd's movepool. It sucks already, why limit it further?

That one's more of a flavor glitch, but back then you couldn't just look up a type chart, so when Gyarados was hit "Not very effective"ly by grass, you would assume that Grass hit Water not very effectively or neutrally. Even MORE hilarious are some of the type changes (Although I agree with Poison hitting Bug SE, why did Bug hit Poison SE? Or Ice hit Fire neutrally? Or make Psychics IMMUNE to ghosts? Granted, the only non-fixed damage ghost move is Lick, but still...)

Real fun, when Persian, Venusaur, and Scyther can always critical hit you. Really fun, when MEWTWO, who already is a gamebreaker, crits HALF OF THE TIME. And that's not an overestimate.

Oh yeah. So when I'm battling my friend's Starmie, I'll remember that, and then weep when I realise YOU CAN'T USE ICE HEALS against other humans!

Also, the "Shiny stat things" made shinies useless in competitive battles in GSC, as it limited them to horrid IVs. And yeah, in RSE, the doubled the IVS: Evs were simplified from collecting something like 52839 (I don't remember the exact ammount, but I can assure you, it was a lot) to 510.

Friendship was WAY more foreshadowed than that. Heck, a lot of the NPCs in any of the generations say that "Friendship is all important" (In a vile twist of fate, since it only affects the power of 2 moves, it's better to have a pokemon hate you than be indecisive), when really, it still isn't (Again, it does something for 2 attacks).

New types were added just so Nintendo could say "Alright, we screwed up. Psychics are to powerful, you win. And since we need to give Dragons moves that aren't set power, lets make an ultamate wall type!"


And Crono, the pokedex wasn't incomplete. I'd assume you are talking about the National Dex, but it's still there with all 386 pokemon accounted for.

How about Acid Rain in Platinum? That one's got me kind of scared to fight a Pokemon with Pursuit .
Or all those GTS glitches in D/P/Pt/HG/SS? All Gen IV games have the GTS, and while it's not game altering, there are quite a few bugs .
Then there's tweaking and the surf glitch... ah, never mind, you know all this stuff probably. And while they may not be as bad as some of the stuff in R/B/Y, my point is glitches happen in every game, that's no reason to hate it.
And about the starmie... what can I say but... use Venusaur's crits to your advantage? Yeah I know, that's not gonna help much, but really, in that case you, I don't know, just maybe ACCEPT DEFEAT?!. And did you ever consider the fact that that just might not be a glitch?

To me Every Pokemon Game was great, but Pokemon Ruby/Saphire was kind of boring. It was not very intersesting to me. Emerald is better because it is Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Saphire combined to make it better.

Doesn't the Acid Rain glitch only happen on switches? Because I know most of the specifics of it. Admitably, I have no idea how Nintendo screwed up on that.

GTS glitches? Like cloning? You know, nowadays I think Nintendo realised that people more use cloning for events and items, but made it risky. Eh, don't really know much about the GTS though, never actually had a DS (Although I've played all the newer ones except HGSS on other's DSs.)

Tweaking is another one of the "how did they screw it up", but I forget how it works. Isn't it riding a bike to fast for the game to comprehend?

id have to say that fire red and leaf green were the worst. it is only a remake of the classics. i was expecting a new twist or something but the plot line is about the same exact thing only with better graphics. complete waste of money. same with soul silver and heart gold. i mean its still ok but theres no surprises, very dissapointing

I CAN'T believe that I'm the only one to say that Diamond/Pearl was worst, there are just soo... many things bad about it. It had too many birds, the people looked too fake, the only good thing about it (may I repeat myself) is that it is in 3D.
