There was a time not so long ago that I made claims that mobile gaming just isn't gaming, and that I would verbally tear down with every breath I took, gacha systems in games. Well, I'm here to eat my words.

After watching several of the Fate animated series and enjoying nearly everything about the Fate universe, I got into Fate/Grand Order and have only missed a handful of daily logins in well over a year and a half of play. I also got into Genshin Impact at launch, took a break, and came back and have been playing daily for a long while, and also picked up and put a lot of time into Arknights. I've discovered I really like gambling, even though I will probably stay far, far away from casinos unless I'm playing for pennies to take advantage of unlimited drinks. It's probably a really good thing casinos are illegal in Tennessee.

How about y'all? Anyone fall into gacha hell? I could see about freeing up space in my friends lists in the games I mentioned and we could add each other for support characters.

I will say I have played Bleach Brave Souls, but I never purchased the premium currencies like crazy. I think I bought it maybe twice when they were on sale, but that was about it. 

I haven't played it in a long while too. Personally, I just got tired of the free to play grind for said currency.


Would I play the game again? Maybe, but I still can't convince myself to purchase the premium currency just for a character. 

I also don't see why or even how some people can spend thousands a week on a game and see nothing wrong with it. I want to know what type of job they have to be able to do that. 

pokemon x : Oh no, I'm all but free to play on all my games. At most, I plan on buying GSSR this year on FGO and I buy the $5 monthly pass on Genshin and Arknights. Beyond that, I won't buy anything unless they run like an 80% sale. I've put absurd amounts of time into the games, but I definitely won't whale on pulls. I generally like free to play grinds, though. They have to be particularly bad for me to lose interest for a lack of a sense of progress.

I feel like the problem with gacha games was that browser based games were dragging its reputation through the mud in the west years ago and that it wasn't until actual game developers and publishers started implementing the mechanics into real games that it started to work.

Genshin Impact is the big one right now but if it wasn't for Summoners War setting the stage in 2014 and then massive companies like Nintendo doing their own, it wouldn't be the same and there probably wouldn't be any quality control.

Right now the main one I play is Summoners War, maybe 2-3 hours a day and a couple hundred dollars a month. On the side, I do Fire Emblem Heroes and Konosuba Fantastic Days for the franchises, and FGO since I have amazing luck.

I have a weird relationship with Genshin Impact because I pretty much beat the game within a week or two of it being released. I streamed around 100 hours of PS4 Genshin during the beta and 20 hours during it's first week post launch. So I had already done everything that was available at launch and there was nothing else left to do. So I chose to put the game to the side until more characters and content were added but getting back in kept being hard. Not staying in it was one of my biggest regrets.

You know your girl loves her gambling. I have about 4 different gachas I'm on and off of.

Genshin - I play almost daily but that's cause I still stream it, and mainly play it for the lore. and because I'm in love with all the characters especially my son Albedo.

It all started with Fire Emblem and Pokemon masters and now has evolved into a huge problem.

I also play a LOT of Arknights (better and more generous than Genshin hopes to ever be.). And Cookie run for big buff cookie men (i don't know what's wrong with me).

It honestly has taught me how to save in ways I never knew I could. Because that feeling when you have 200pulls up and ready for a guarantee is a wonderful feeling.
