We all know about banana's several stages of (de)evolution, but I'll have them pictured here just in case.



I personally think bananas are best in the *first half* of the "barely ripe" period, but I'll eat them as long as there's no brown spots.

I'm glad you asked I personally eat a banana either at barely ripe or at ripe though I have been stuck eating very ripe before and it's really kinda gross but I outright refuse to eat overripe. Luckily I haven't ate an overripe banana so I don't hate myself.

They're perfectly fine to blend when they're over ripe, in fact, the sweetness can contribute to the overall flavor in this case. I actually really don't like the brown spots either though, so this is pretty much the only way I'll eat them apart from banana bread.

Oh sorry, as for the ripeness scale, I like mine ripe. A solid yellow with maybe a few brown pixels on it but not big enough you'd call them spots. I find that barely ripe bananas are a bit too thready and lack a little in the flavor compartment compared to ripe bananas. It's been a while since I've had one anyway but they are one of the few fruits I can genuinely enjoy from time to time.
